O Sovereign Lord,

In this context, we lift up families and communities who are torn apart by sin and strife. Let them feel the depth of Your love and the urgency of returning to You, O God. May they see the futility of their pursuits that lead to death and despair.
I call upon You to raise valiant men and women, Lord, who will stand in the gap, who will intercede on behalf of our nation and our people. Allow us to be instruments of peace, strength, and unity. Just as Pekah's violent actions led to terrible losses, remind us that we must be active in love, sharing the truth of Your Word so that none may perish without knowing You.
