Prayer for Divine Guidance and Wisdom in Stewardship

"¶ And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found an hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred." - 2 Chronicles 2:17

"¶ And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found an hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred." - 2 Chronicles 2:{verse.verse_number}

O Divine Creator,

As I come before You today, I am reminded of the faithfulness of King Solomon, who walked in the ways of his father David. I reflect on Your word from 2 Chronicles 2:17, where it is written, "And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found an hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred."

Lord, this verse resonates deeply with the responsibilities we have as stewards of the resources and the people You have entrusted to us. Just as Solomon took a diligent account of those in his land, I pray for the wisdom and discernment to recognize and appreciate those around me — the strangers and friends alike who form a part of our community, our nation, and our world.

Heavenly Father, in our lives, there are often strangers — those whom You have placed in our paths for a purpose, whether to teach us, help us, or challenge us. Help us to see them as You see them. Make our hearts tender towards all individuals, regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances. May we approach them with love, empathy, and respect, just as Solomon embraced all those who came to dwell in Israel.

I pray for a heart of inclusion, O Lord. May we never forget that all people are Your creation, formed in Your image and deserving of dignity and care. Remind us that each person counts; that every soul is significant in your mighty plan. Just as Solomon accounted for every individual in Israel, instill in us the discipline to acknowledge, appreciate, and serve others in our lives.

Lord Jesus, bless our relationships with others. Whether they are long-time friends, co-workers, or acquaintances met only briefly, I ask for Your guidance in how to engage meaningfully with each person. Teach us, O God, the art of listening. Let us hear their stories, understand their struggles, and rejoice in their victories.

Give us the spirit of unity that Solomon embodied in his leadership. As he sought to gather and account for the people of Israel, may we also strive to build bridges rather than walls, fostering environments of collaboration and peace. Help us to work towards reconciliation in areas of division, recognizing that we are all part of the same human family.

Let us take inspiration from David’s heart of worship and Solomon’s wisdom as we engage with all nations represented in our lands today. May our focus not only be on the number of those we encounter but on the impact we can have within their lives.

O Lord, grant us Your Holy Spirit — guide us in decisions that align with Your will. Strengthen our resolve to serve, to number our blessings, and to extend Your grace to those we interact with. Give us the fortitude to count our labor not merely in terms of outcomes but as offerings to You, impacting lives for Your glory.

As we emulate Solomon in recognizing and valuing every person, let us also break barriers of misunderstanding and prejudice. Cultivate in us a spirit of hospitality and kindness, so that no stranger may feel unloved or unnoticed. Let our communities be places of refuge, where everyone feels secure and accepted.

In closing, dear Lord, I thank You for the lessons embedded in the Scriptures. I ask that you bless our endeavors and teach us to walk in wisdom as we navigate our roles within our communities, bearing in mind that every life matters.

Thank you for hearing my prayer. I trust that You are with us every step of the way as we seek to honor You in our dealings with one another. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
