Heavenly Father,

As we gather in Your presence today, our hearts are filled with reverence and gratitude for the legacy of faith that has been passed down through generations. We come before You, reflecting on the profound words recorded in 2 Samuel 23:1, which declare: "Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said."

Lord, we recognize David not merely as a historical figure but as a man chosen by You, anointed to lead your people and a vessel through whom your divine purposes were fulfilled. We marvel at how Your hand was upon him from his days of humble shepherding to his exaltation as king. In his last words, we find a treasure trove of wisdom and insight, a testament to a life devoted to You.

Father, as we meditate on David’s legacy, we ask that You help us learn from his journey. Help us, dear Lord, to cultivate a heart like David’s—one that seeks after You, one that praises You with every breath we take.
