A Prayer for Wisdom and Discernment Against Deception
"Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest." - 2 Samuel 3:25

Dear Heavenly Father,
As I come before You today, I am deeply humbled by Your presence and Your unwavering love. I put my trust in Your wisdom and seek to understand more about the world around me, especially in the face of those who may not have our best interests at heart. Your Word in 2 Samuel 3:25 rings true to me, where it reminds us: "Thou knowest Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive thee, and to know thy going out and thy coming in, and to know all that thou doest."
Lord, I acknowledge that there are times when deception lurks in the shadows, and the motives of others may not be clear. Like Abner, who approached David with guile and ulterior intentions, we are surrounded by many distractions and potential pitfalls. I pray that You grant me the discernment to identify the spirits at work around me. Help me to see through the veil of deception and recognize truth when I hear it. Just as David was cautioned about Abner's intentions, help me to remain vigilant amidst the schemes of those who may seek to mislead me.
Father, I ask for Your guidance to illuminate my path, giving me insight into the actions and plans of those who cross my way. May I have the wisdom of Solomon, to discern the hearts of men and to navigate relationships carefully and thoughtfully. Let my interactions be marked by a clear understanding of integrity, sincerity, and Your truth. Remind me of the importance of surrounding myself with those who are agents of honesty and transparency, who encourage my walk with You rather than lead me astray.
In a world where deceit is prevalent, I pray for protection over my heart and mind. Guard me against the allure of falsehoods that may appear enticing but lead toward destruction. I ask You, Lord, to strengthen my spirit, so I may not fall prey to the snares of the enemy. Help me to arm myself with Your Word, which is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105). Let Your truth be the foundation upon which I build my discernment.
Father, I also pray for those who may be struggling with feelings of betrayal or confusion due to the actions of others. Comfort them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and help them to see that, like David, they can bring their concerns before You. May they learn to release their burdens at the foot of the cross, trusting that You are more than capable of dealing with those who seek to deceive or manipulate.
Lord, I also reflect upon my own actions and motives. May I strive to be a person of integrity and sincerity in all my dealings. Help me to examine my heart, refining my intentions to align more closely with Your will. Let my words and actions reflect Your love and truth, so that I may be a beacon of light for those around me. Let every action that I take serve to uplift and guide others, rather than lead them astray.
As I conclude this prayer, I reaffirm my trust in You and in Your ability to protect me from deceitful schemes. Let Your wisdom surround me and guide me in my journey. I will be alert and aware, always seeking Your direction and embracing Your truth. Thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayer.
In the precious name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
