Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, grateful for the gift of Your Word, specifically the message found in Colossians 3:1-3. We are reminded of the profound truth that if we are risen with Christ, we are called to seek those things which are above, where Christ sits at Your right hand. O Lord, help us internalize this truth deeply within our hearts and minds.

Father God, we acknowledge that the world is filled with distractions and temptations that seek to pull our focus away from You. In the busyness of our lives, we often forget to set our affections on things above. However, we surrender our earthly concerns to You today. We ask that You help shift our priorities from the temporal to the eternal. Teach us, Lord, how to cultivate our hearts in such a way that our affections are aligned with the heart of Christ. Help us to yearn for Your presence, to desire Your purposes, and to seek Your kingdom above all else.

In Your infinite wisdom, You have shown us the example of Christ, who intercedes for us at Your right hand. May His life serve as a constant reminder of our new identity in Him. Help us to understand that we are no longer bound by the sins of our past; we are dead to the old ways and made alive in You. Each day offers us the opportunity to rise anew in Your grace. Transform our hearts, O Lord, that we might see the beauty in the things that are above – love, joy, peace, kindness, and compassion.

As we navigate our daily lives, may we keep our hearts and minds focused on heavenly pursuits. Lift our spirits, dear God, so that we can experience the joy of living in harmony with Your will. Remind us, Father, that our life is hidden with Christ in God. In moments of doubt and despair, let this promise resonate within us; help us to find comfort in knowing that our lives are safe and secure in You.

Lord, guide our hearts so that they long for Your presence. When the trials of life weigh us down, may we choose to turn our gaze upward, grasping the strength that comes from acknowledging that we are seated with Christ in the heavenly places. Let the truth of Colossians 3:2 resonate within us, encouraging us to set our minds not on earthly things, which are fleeting and temporary, but on the everlasting and glorious truths found in You.

Father, we pray for our minds to be saturated with Your Word, that we may think on things that are pure, lovely, and of good report. Help us to filter our thoughts through the lens of Scripture, reminding us to dwell on the hope we have in Christ and the life that awaits us in eternity. In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, may we exude the peace that comes from resting in Your promises.

We also lift up those around us, Lord—our families, friends, and communities. May they be influenced by our commitment to seek the things above. Let our lives be mirrors reflecting Your love and Your truth. Teach us to inspire others through our pursuit of holiness and righteousness, drawing them closer to You. May our actions echo our faith in You as we live out the truth that we are indeed risen with Christ.

In closing, we humbly ask for Your grace to continually seek and set our affections on things above. Remind us daily, Lord, of the glorious life we have hidden with Christ in God. We trust in Your promises, knowing that in You, we find our true identity and purpose.
