Heavenly Father,

We come before You with humble hearts, recognizing the sovereignty of Your rule over all creation. Today, we reflect upon the gripping story found in Exodus 1:15, where we see the courage of Shiphrah and Puah, the Hebrew midwives. You have shown us through their actions what it means to stand firm in faith, to protect the innocent, and to uphold righteousness even when faced with fearsome authority. Lord, as we meditate upon this powerful passage, we seek Your guidance and strength to embody the same spirit that these brave women exhibited in their time.

Father, we acknowledge the weight of the oppressive times that they lived in—the cruel orders from the king of Egypt to kill the newborn sons of the Hebrew people. In the face of such a grave injustice, these midwives found the courage to defy Pharaoh's commands. They chose to honor life over death, compassion over fear. We pray that You instill in us, like Shiphrah and Puah, an unwavering commitment to protect those who are vulnerable and defenseless. Help us to be watchful of injustices around us and to be agents of change in a world that often mirrors the oppression faced by the Hebrew people.

Lord, grant us the strength to speak out against wrongdoing, just as these midwives did. Enable us to act boldly, even when the stakes seem high. When we are confronted with situations that challenge our morals or put us at odds with powerful figures, remind us of Your presence, and encourage us to stand strong in our convictions. May our faith in Your justice and mercy empower us to confront fear with courage, ensuring that we never remain silent when we should raise our voices.
