A Prayer for Deliverance from Darkness
"¶ Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." - Exodus 22:18

Heavenly Father, Mighty God, I come before You today with a humble heart, seeking Your presence and guidance as I reflect on Your Word. As I meditate on the scripture from Exodus 22:18, "Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live," I recognize the gravity of the message concerning the forces of darkness that seek to stray us from Your divine path.
Lord, I am fully aware that the world we live in is filled with various influences, some aligned with Your will, but many that are veiled in darkness, deceit, and malevolence. I ask for Your divine protection as we navigate these challenging times. Teach us, O God, to discern between light and dark, truth and falsehood, for Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105).
In Your wisdom, You have cautioned us against the practices of witchcraft and sorcery, not merely as a suggestion but as a commandment born out of love for Your people. Help us to grasp the seriousness of straying into the realms of the occult, where the enemy lurks, deceiving and ensnaring those whose faith wavers. Shield us, Lord, with Your armor (Ephesians 6:11-17) that we may stand firm against the wiles of the devil.
Father, I recognize that the presence of witchcraft is not just a physical manifestation but a spiritual one that seeks to manipulate, control, and invoke fear. I pray for those who are lost and ensnared in these practices—those who have turned away from Your light, seeking power and guidance in ways that are contrary to Your will. I ask that You extend Your love and grace to them, illuminate their hearts, and bring them to the knowledge of Your truth. May they find freedom from the chains that bind them, for You are the Only One who can break the yoke of bondage (Isaiah 10:27).
We earnestly pray for discernment in our own lives, that we may not inadvertently open doors to darkness through curiosity or temptation. Fortify our minds, Lord, with knowledge and wisdom to recognize any twisted teachings or ideologies that may arise around us. Equip us to be watchful and prayerful, as the Apostle Paul encourages us in 1 Thessalonians 5:6, so that we may not fall into the traps laid by the enemy.
Gracious God, I also implore You to surround those who have faced the repercussions of witchcraft and sorcery. Injustice falls upon the innocent sometimes, leaving scars and wounds on their hearts. Heal the broken-hearted, and deliver those oppressed by fear and anxiety caused by dark practices (Psalm 147:3). May Your light shine brightly in their lives, expelling every shadow that has lingered too long, and granting them peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, impart in us a strong sense of community and solidarity as we push back against darkness. Unite Your Church in the pursuit of holy living and righteous deeds, so we may draw others closer to You through our actions. May our hearts not be hardened against those who have strayed into witchcraft; instead, let our love shine as a beacon of hope, drawing them back into Your heavenly fold.
In seeking to abide by Your commandments, let our lives reflect the holiness that You desire for us. Teach us to live in purity and righteousness, walking in Your ways, removing all semblance of the occult from our midst. Help us to be proactive in seeking Your presence, and encourage one another to hold fast to the teachings of Your Word, knowing that spiritual warfare is not a battle to be taken lightly.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, trusting that You hear us and in Your perfect will, we will see transformation and renewal within our hearts, our communities, and our world. Amen.
