A Prayer for Holiness and Divine Encounter
"And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy." - Exodus 30:36

Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with reverence and awe, acknowledging Your greatness and the sacredness of Your presence. As we meditate on Exodus 30:36, where it is written, "And thou shalt beat some of it very small, and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, where I will meet with thee: it shall be unto you most holy," we are reminded of the significance of the moments spent in Your presence, and how You desire to meet with us.
Lord, we want to understand the deeper meaning of holiness in our lives. As you instructed the Israelites to prepare a portion of the holy incense, we too seek to offer up our lives, our prayers, and our worship as a fragrant offering unto You. Just as the incense was to be beaten small, we acknowledge that in order to approach You, we must also be willing to come stricken, humble, and contrite in spirit. Let the trials and tribulations that we encounter serve to refine us, breaking us down to become vessels that are pure and acceptable before You.
Father, as we stir our hearts to desire greater communion with You, let us not forget that it is in the quietness and humility of seeking You that we will find true holiness. Help us to err not just in the physical offerings that we present, but more importantly in the spiritual offerings that reflect our inner devotion. Teach us to beat down our pride, our ego, and all forms of sin, that we may stand before You clean and righteous, akin to the incense that was so carefully prepared.
Communion with You is our greatest desire. We long for those sacred moments when we can encounter Your presence and feel the weight of Your glory envelop us. May our prayers ascend like that sweet aroma of incense before You, recognized by You as holy and pleasing.
In this world filled with distractions, let our hearts be steadfast in seeking You alone. Help us to dwell in the tabernacle of Your presence daily, not merely in a physical structure but within the sanctuary of our hearts where Your Spirit resides. You promised to meet us there – how wonderful it is to know that all it takes is for us to come before You with a sincere heart and a desire to know You more intimately.
Lord, we acknowledge that this world’s busyness often draws us far from You, but we plead for Your guidance and strength to prioritize our relationship with You. Remind us of the holiness of every moment spent in prayer and worship, and the importance of creating a personal tabernacle in our lives. Infuse our hearts with a desire to carve out sacred spaces for You, where we can retreat from the clamor and embrace the stillness of Your presence.
As we build our lives upon Your Word, inscribe on our hearts the truth of this verse – the significance of coming before You is both a mighty privilege and a serious responsibility. Enable us to recognize that our pursuit of holiness is not merely for ourselves but also for the glory of Your name. May we be vessels that carry Your light into the darkness and reflect Your holiness, drawing others to the beautiful encounter they too can have with You.
In closing, Father, help us always to keep in mind that it is in Your presence that we find everything we need. It shall be unto us, most holy. As we beat down the impurities of our lives and offer ourselves to You, may we continually encounter the fullness of joy and peace that only comes from being in communion with our Creator.
In the precious and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
