Prayer for Divine Cleansing and Empowerment
"And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out." - Ezekiel 10:7

Heavenly Father,
In the sacred quiet of this moment, I come humbly before You, reflecting upon the profound image of Your heavenly beings, particularly the cherubims, as depicted in Ezekiel 10:7. "And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out." Lord, I am struck by the mystery and majesty of Your creatures, those mighty cherubims, who serve in Your heavenly court, ever vigilant, always ready to execute Your will.
Father, as I contemplate this passage, I am reminded of the essence of their devotion and the significance of the fire that symbolizes Your purity and holiness. I approach Your throne today, yearning for the fire of Your spirit to cleanse my heart and renew my spirit. Just as the cherub stretched forth his hand to take the holy fire, I pray that You would stretch forth Your hand upon me, O Lord. Cleanse my heart from all unrighteousness and refine me with the purest fire of Your love. I ask for the grace to surrender my burdens, sins, and distractions into Your mighty hands so that every part of my being may be made new.
O God, You are a consuming fire, and I desire that Your fire may burn away all that is not of You in my life. As the cherub took from the fire, may I too seek from the flames of Your presence—may I draw close to Your holiness and be filled with the passion and zeal to pursue righteousness. Let the embers of Your love ignite my soul, that I may reflect Your light in this world filled with darkness.
Holy Spirit, I pray that You would empower me as You empowered the one who was clothed in linen. Clothe me with Your righteousness, that I may walk in the truth of Your word. Equip me to share Your gospel with courage and wisdom. Help me to understand the assignment You have placed upon my life, as I seek to be the bearer of Your good news and a vessel of Your peace. I long to go out into the world equipped with Your holy fire, sharing love where there is hate, hope where there is despair, and faith where there is doubt.
Father, I also recognize that the act of the cherub was an act of obedience and submission. Teach me, O Lord, to hear Your voice as the cherub listened to the commands of Heaven. May I be attentive to Your leading and responsive to your call, reaching out with trust and faith, no matter the uncertainties that lie before me. Help me to know that Your ways are higher than mine, and that every path You lead me down is for my good and Your glory.
In the spirit of this truth, I ask that You help me cultivate a heart that is willing—the willingness to serve, to love, to forgive, and to embrace the challenges You allow in my life. May I not shrink back when faced with trials but instead step forward with the conviction that You have placed within me. Let Your fire burn within me, so I may shine brightly and draw others to the warmth of Your love.
Finally, Lord, may I always carry the memory of the cherub’s act before Your throne—the steadfast heart and the readiness of spirit. Grant me the boldness to stretch forth my hands in service, in humility, and in love, that I may reflect the very essence of what it means to be clothed in Your righteousness.
In the powerful name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
