A Prayer for Liberation from Deception and Control
"Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly." - Ezekiel 13:20

Heavenly Father,
I come to You today burdened by the weight of this world and seeking Your truth in the midst of the deception that so easily ensnares our hearts and minds. As I reflect on the words found in Ezekiel 13:20, I am reminded of Your holy justice and sovereignty. You have spoken through Your prophet, declaring, "Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly." Lord, it is a serious indictment against those who manipulate and deceive, as well as those who are ensnared by such entrapments.
Father, I acknowledge that in our lives, there are many 'pillows' that we seek comfort from—some of them are rooted in deception, distraction, and false security. We live in a time where false prophets and teachers abound, where we are inundated with messages that sound appealing but lead us away from Your truths. Forgive us, Lord, for embracing these pillows of deceit and allowing them to control us, leading our souls away from the safe haven of Your will.
As You declare Your opposition to these deceptive influences, I ask that You open our eyes to see their true nature. Enable us to discern the spirits and messages that infiltrate our lives. Protect us from those who seek to manipulate us for their gain and those who hunt our souls, attempting to make us soar on wings of lies. Grant us wisdom to recognize the traps and snares that are set by the enemy to undermine our faith.
Oh, Lord, how many have fallen victim to the seductive whispers of misleading ideologies and teachings that promise freedom but lead only to bondage? I pray for those who are currently caught in these traps. May Your Spirit intervene in their lives, revealing the hollow promises they have chased after. May they see the futility of seeking comfort in falsehoods and be drawn back to Your truth which alone sets us free.
I lift up to You those who are oppressed, those whose souls are hunted and tormented by the weight of confusion brought on by false teachings. I plead that You would tear these pillows from their arms and help them find refuge in Your everlasting arms. Let it resonate in their hearts that You are the Good Shepherd, Who comes to rescue the lost and the broken, and in You, they can find the safety they are yearning for.
As You promise to "let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly," I declare that Your power can break every chain, shatter every bondage, and release every soul from captivity. I ask for a mighty movement of Your Spirit to infiltrate our communities, our churches, and our own lives—drawing us closer to Your heart and away from those things that would lead us astray.
Lord, fill us with Your truth, which is sharper than any sword. Lead us to Your Word and its teachings, so we may reflect on Your guidance that protects us from error. Let the light of Your truth expose the dark corners where deception lurks, and may our hearts be drawn to seek Your understanding and insight rather than the misleading comforts of the world.
Thank you, Lord, for hearing our prayer. I place my trust in You, knowing that You are faithful and true. May our lives reflect Your glory as we step away from the influences that draw us away from You. Help us to stand firm in Your promises and walk confidently in Your love and grace.
In the name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen.
