"Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel," - Ezekiel 21:2

O Sovereign Lord, Most High, the Alpha and Omega, we come before You in reverence and humility, acknowledging Your infinite wisdom and understanding. Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts are deeper than our thoughts. Today, we reflect upon the heavy words spoken through Your prophet Ezekiel, as recorded in Ezekiel 21:2: "Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel."

Father, we take this moment to set our faces toward Jerusalem, the city that bears Your name, the place where You have chosen to dwell among Your people. We lift up our hearts to You, recognizing Jerusalem not only as a geographical location but as a spiritual heart, embodying the hopes and prayers of generations. We cry out for the peace of Jerusalem, as Your Word instructs us, knowing that it is essential not only for the city itself but for the whole world.

O Lord, in our time of intercession, we plead for the holiness of Jerusalem, for it has been called Your holy place. May it be protected against the forces that seek to destroy its sanctity and peace. Just as the prophet was commanded to prophesy against the land of Israel, we too acknowledge the need for a clear and profound prophetic voice in our day. We ask for Your prophets to rise, to speak boldly in love and truth, addressing the injustices, the division, and the violence that plague the land.

Gracious God, we also recognize our own shortcomings as a global community towards Israel. Forgive us for the times we have turned a blind eye to the struggles of Your chosen people. We repent of indifference and ask for mercy. We implore You to inspire us with a deep compassion for the land of Israel, for the people who reside there, and for the special call that You have placed upon them since the beginning of time.

Father, as we drop our words toward the holy places, help us to speak words of life and hope. Let our prayers rise like sweet incense before You, enveloping the land of Israel in a canopy of intercession, protection, and love. May Your peace rest upon Jerusalem; may Your shalom be established in every neighborhood, on every street, and in every home. We proclaim healing over the land and declare restoration where there has been brokenness.

Holy Spirit, we invite You to stir within the hearts of leaders and individuals alike in Israel. May they hear Your voice clearly and respond to Your beckoning with faith and courage. Guide their actions and decisions to align with Your will and realize Your kingdom purposes. As we join in prayer, we anticipate the transformation that You will bring forth in Israel — a longing for peace and unity among its people, a desire for reconciliation, and a return to the paths of righteousness.

We also recognize that Ezekiel’s call to prophesy against the land was born out of compassion for the people. Lord, instill in us a spirit of compassion as well. May our words be filled with grace as we speak truth into hard places. Help us to balance our declarations of judgment with messages of hope, calling forth a revival in the hearts of all who dwell in the land of Israel.

In these final moments of our prayer, we wrap our supplications in the name of Jesus, the Messiah. We declare that His blood covers Israel, that His grace is sufficient for every sinner, and that His love extends to all corners of the earth. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your steadfast love toward Your people. We trust in Your faithfulness and await Your mighty hand to move upon the land of Israel.

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
