O Sovereign Lord, Almighty God, I come before You today with a heavy heart, recognizing the depth of my shortcomings and transgressions. As I reflect on the words found in Ezekiel 23:35, "Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back; therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms," I am brought to a place of humility and contrition.

Lord, Your Word speaks of the pain caused when we turn our backs on You, when we forget the love, grace, and mercy that You so abundantly pour out upon us. I acknowledge that, in times of struggle or prosperity, I have at times chosen the ways of the world over the wisdom of Your path. I have allowed distractions to pull my focus, and in moments of weakness, I have cast You aside, forgetting the covenant we share.

Forgive me, O Lord, for those times when I have allowed my desires to take precedence over my devotion to You. Forgive me for the ways in which I have engaged in the lewdness of my heart and the whoredoms of my actions—those moments of infidelity to Your voice, as I sought comfort and satisfaction in things that ultimately lead me away from Your presence. I repent for nurturing idols in my life, granting them more attention than they deserve, and for allowing the cares of this world to cloud my vision of Your glory.

In Your lovingkindness, reach into the depths of my being and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Wash me afresh in the blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who paid the ultimate price for my sins. Rebuild in me a spirit that longs for the things of You, a heart that beats in rhythm with Your desires.

Lord, I confess that there have been seasons when I have let apathy and complacency creep into my spiritual life. I have neglected to nurture my relationship with You through prayer, studying Your Word, and engaging in fellowship with other believers. I have forgotten the feet of Your grace, the tender mercies that renewed each day, and the call to remain steadfast and watchful in my faith. Help me to remember my first love—the excitement that once burned bright when I first encountered Your truth and grace.

Strengthen my resolve, Lord. I desire to turn back to You with my whole heart. Imprint the eternal significance of our relationship upon my soul, and let not the whispers of distraction lead me astray. Help me to see the beauty of Your holiness and to understand the gravity of what it means to have a life dedicated to You. I long to bear fruit that brings glory to Your name and to live a life that reflects Your character in all I do.

As I bear the weight of my past transgressions, remind me that You love me fiercely and desire to restore me fully. In Your presence, there is healing, and I seek that healing today. Bind up my wounds from wandering, reclaim my heart from the clutches of sin, and lead me on the path of righteousness. Help me, Lord, to establish in my life practices that reinforce my love for You—times of devoted prayer, listening to Your voice, and engaging deeply with Your Word.

Thank You for Your unwavering commitment to me, even when I falter. Inspire in me a fresh desire for You, a hunger that cannot be satisfied by anything else. May I never forget the depths of Your love and grace, and may I always seek the light of Your presence. In Your precious name, I pray, Amen.
