A Prayer for Repentance and Restoration: A Call to Examine Our Hearts
"¶ The LORD said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations;" - Ezekiel 23:36

Almighty God, the Most High, Creator of heaven and earth,
I come before You today with a heavy heart, recognizing the profound message embedded in Ezekiel 23:36:
"The LORD said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations."
In this passage, we are reminded of the serious nature of our actions and the need for accountability within Your people.
O Lord, just as You called upon Your servant Ezekiel to confront the sins of Aholah and Aholibah, I ask for Your Spirit to prompt us to examine our lives, our communities, and our nation.
Help us, dear Father, to not turn a blind eye to the abominations that exist among us, but rather to stand firm in the truth and declare the reality of our shortcomings.
We are aware that sin abounds in every corner—pride, greed, lust, and a lack of love for one another.
Through the lens of Your divine justice, unveil our eyes so we may see the seriousness of our transgressions.
May we not fall into the traps of complacency or indifference, but instead pursue a heart that yearns for righteousness.
God, we thank You for Your Word that serves as a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105).
As we reflect upon the message of Ezekiel, we acknowledge that judgment begins with the household of God.
Help us to be diligent judges of our actions, to scrutinize our behaviors, and to approach our lives with honesty and integrity.
May Your Holy Spirit stir within us, leading us to confront our personal Aholah and Aholibah, exposing the layers of abominations that we have allowed to take root in our hearts.
Lord, we seek forgiveness for failing to be a true reflection of Your love and holiness in the world.
Bring to light the ways in which we have contributed to the decay of moral values, the perversion of Your commandments, and the wounding of our brothers and sisters.
Just as You urged Ezekiel to declare their abominations, instill in us the courage to speak truth into our circumstances, so that healing and repentance can commence.
Father, as Your children, we understand that judgment does not come without grace and mercy.
We praise You for the unconditional love You have shown us through Christ, who bore the weight of our sins on the cross.
As we present our petitions before You, may our cries for mercy become a catalyst for change in our hearts and our communities.
Fill us with Your Spirit of wisdom and understanding as we take the time to grieve over our sinfulness while being empowered to rise up in faith and action.
In a world that often celebrates evil, grant us the boldness to stand in defense of truth and justice, proclaiming that there is a better way—that there is redemption in You.
Lord, teach us to live in a manner that honors You, engaging in acts of compassion, justice, and love.
Help us to turn our backs on our former ways, as we declare our commitment to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33).
Finally, dear God, we pray for restoration and revival in our lives and in the hearts of those around us.
May Your mercy be poured out upon Aholah and Aholibah of today—individuals who have strayed from You and embraced the ways of the world.
Bring them back to the fold, Lord, that they may experience the fullness of life found in You.
As we journey forward, may we continually remember Your call to declare abominations not to condemn but to lead our fellow man back to You, the One who saves, redeems, and restores.
In the powerful name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen.
