O Lord God of Heaven and Earth,

We come before You today with hearts filled with awe and reverence, recognizing Your majesty and power that reigns above and below. We take comfort in the words spoken through Your servant Ezra, as recorded in Ezra 5:11: "And thus they returned us answer, saying, We are the servants of the God of heaven and earth, and build the house that was builded these many years ago, which a great king of Israel builded and set up." Lord, we too declare that we are Your servants, created for Your glory and called to fulfill Your purposes on this earth.

As we embark upon the various tasks and projects that lay before us, we humbly seek Your guidance and intervention. Teach us to understand the true significance of being Your servants. Instill in us a sense of duty and dedication that mirrors the fervor of those who returned to Jerusalem to build the temple. Grant us the same resolve and passion to build and to restore—that which time has eroded and that which stands as a testament to Your greatness.

Father, we acknowledge that the building of the house, whether a physical structure, a community, or our personal lives, requires not only physical labor but spiritual fortitude. Help us to be diligent and steadfast in our efforts. When challenges arise—as they often do—remind us of the purpose behind our work. Let us never forget that we labor not just for ourselves, but for Your honor and for the kingdom that You have established among us. May our hands be skilled, and may our hearts be enlivened with a spirit of perseverance.

Lord, just as King Solomon received wisdom and understanding to build the first temple, we ask for Your divine wisdom in our own endeavors. Help us to seek You first in every decision we make. Open our eyes to see the paths You have laid before us. May we navigate through the complexities of our lives and missions with clarity and grace, guided by Your Holy Spirit. Equip us with knowledge that is deeply rooted in Your Word—allowing it to be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.

In moments of doubt or when surrounded by naysayers and obstacles, strengthen our resolve to stand firm in our identity as Your servants. Remind us of Your promises, etched in the elaborate tapestry of our faith history. Let the words of Ezra ring in our ears: we are servants of the God of Heaven—this mighty declaration should embolden us. When we face opposition, let it only act to prepare us for greater faith and greater works.

Guide us, O Lord, as we work to build houses—houses of worship, homes of peace, communities of love. We also lift up our leaders and those who govern. Let them seek Your counsel and build not just for their benefit, but for the common good of all people, focusing on principles of justice and mercy.

Lord, as we build toward a common aim, let unity abound among us. We are reminded that the early builders in Ezra’s time returned to the foundation that was laid, uniting their vision and efforts in Your name. May we do the same, joining hands across divides, fostering relationships that honor You, and working collaboratively to fulfill our missions.

Lord, we ask not only for strength in our labor, but also for peace in our hearts as we journey forward. In moments of struggle and weariness, just as a great king of Israel relied upon Your wisdom, we too rely upon Your comfort and support. Fill us with joy at the labor that draws us closer to You and to one another.

In conclusion, God of Heaven and Earth, we commit all our plans unto You. We ask for Your continued blessings as we strive to devote ourselves wholly to the tasks You have set before us; may every brick we lay in service of Your Kingdom be a reflection of Your glory.
