A Prayer for Divine Wisdom and Guidance
"Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying," - Haggai 2:11

Heavenly Father,
With humble hearts we come before You today, bowing in reverence and awe of Your majesty and grace. You, O Lord, are the creator of heaven and earth, the one who knows each of us intimately and plans our paths with divine purpose. In this moment, we reflect on the profound wisdom found in Haggai 2:11, where You proclaim, “Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,”.
Lord, we recognize that You have set apart a special group of individuals—the priests—who are tasked with the sacred duty of teaching and upholding Your law. As we reflect upon this scripture, we are reminded of the importance of seeking counsel from those who are rooted in Your Word. Help us, Father, to seek out wisdom and guidance from those appointed to minister and lead in faith. Let us not rely solely on our understanding, but rather, let us seek the insights of those who are guided by Your Spirit.
We pray for the priests and ministers in our communities, Lord. Fill them with the anointing of Your Holy Spirit as they delve into the richness of Your laws and commandments. May they be diligent in their study, compassionate in their teaching, and unwavering in their commitment to Your truth. Lead them to impart wisdom that reflects Your love and righteousness, enabling them to guide others on paths of understanding and obedience.
Father, in our personal lives, we often grapple with questions and uncertainties. As the verse encourages us to ask and seek understanding, we come before You with our needs. Guide us amidst our struggles in life. Help us to recognize the wisdom in seeking advice from others, particularly those who have dedicated their lives to serving You. Grant us the humility to accept counsel and the discernment to recognize true wisdom when it is presented to us.
We seek to understand Your law, dear Lord, not as a mere set of rules, but as a foundation for our lives—a blueprint designed to lead us to prosperity and peace. Instill in us a desire to pursue righteousness and to align our actions with Your commands. As we absorb the teachings of the priests and mentors You place in our lives, help us to internalize these lessons, so that they may transform our hearts and minds.
May our inquiries lead us deeper into communion with You. As we ask for understanding, may we also be prepared to accept Your answers, whether they align with our desires or challenge us to grow. Help us to approach You with openness, ready to be taught, corrected, and inspired by Your Word.
Lord, let our hearts be attentive and our spirits receptive to Your guidance. As we immerse ourselves in scripture, may we cultivate a relationship with You that is rich and flourishing. Let us study Your law for strength and clarity, and let it become a lamp unto our feet, lighting our way through the darkest valleys.
As we gather in fellowship, guide our conversations to foster spiritual growth. Let our discussions be rooted in Your truth, reflecting Your love and grace. Help us to encourage and challenge one another in our walks of faith, so that together, we may grow stronger as a community devoted to Your service.
In closing, we thank You, Father, for the privilege of seeking You and for the promise of wisdom that You gladly bestow upon those who ask. May we continually strive to be in communion with You and Yours. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
