I acknowledge that in this world, there exists a wisdom that is not of You, a wisdom that is described in the book of James as earthly, sensual, and devilish. In James 3:15 (KJV), it is written: "This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish." Lord, I revere Your Word, for it exposes the nature of the wisdom that lures us away from Your truth.

Father, I pray that You open my eyes to see the subtle ways this earthly wisdom tries to infiltrate my life. Help me to discern the thoughts and influences that seek to guide me away from Your path. Allow me to recognize any motivations based purely on sensual desires or a devilish agenda that might feed my pride or lead me into temptation. Lord, I confess that there have been times when I have followed the path of this earthly wisdom. I have sought validation in worldly achievements, finding my worth in the fleeting applause of mankind rather than in Your eternal love. I have allowed sensual pleasures to take precedence over the pursuit of holiness and righteousness. Forgive me, O God, for these missteps that have distanced me from You and opened me up to temptation.

I earnestly seek the wisdom that comes from above, the wisdom that is pure, peaceable, gentle, and willing to yield. In moments of decision and conflict, I fervently desire to be guided by Your divine insight that fosters peace and encourages love among my brothers and sisters. As I recognize the chaos and strife that often accompanies worldly wisdom, I pray for a heart that seeks to sow peace instead. Not only for my sake, but for the benefit of all whom I encounter. Lord, equip me with the knowledge and understanding that reflects Your character.

As I navigate the complexities of life, I also beseech You to guard my heart and mind against the influences that seek to mislead me. Surround me with individuals who embody Your wisdom, who challenge me to seek Your ways and question the sensibilities that the world presses upon me. Enable me to be a vessel of Your love and truth, illuminated by Your light, even amidst the darkness that seeks to overshadow our lives.

Heavenly Father, I long to be a source of encouragement and guidance to others, drawing them closer to You rather than away. Help me to be wise in my words and actions. Let me be an example of the wisdom that descends from above, serving as a testament to Your grace and mercy. I pray that my life might reflect Your goodness, and that others might seek to understand and embrace Your truth as they observe the peace and joy that fills my soul.

As I conclude this prayer, I thank You for the promises found in Your Holy Scriptures, and for the assurance that true wisdom is available to all who ask.
