A Prayer for Deliverance from Snares and Fear
"Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;" - Job 22:10

O Almighty God,
As I gather my thoughts before You, I humbly approach the throne of grace seeking Your peace and strength. Your Word in Job 22:10 reminds me of the trials and tribulations that sometimes encircle my life: "Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee." These words resonate deeply within my spirit, as I reflect on the moments where I have felt trapped by the snares of my own doubts, fears, and the chaotic circumstances that seem to overshadow Your presence in my life.
Lord, I recognize that the snares mentioned in scripture may come in many forms—disappointments, failures, and unforeseen struggles. They can ensnare our hearts and minds, capturing us in moments of despair. I have witnessed such snares, Lord—financial troubles that seem insurmountable, relationship conflicts that tear at the seams of my soul, and distressing fears that paralyze my ability to move forward.
Father, in these moments, help me to remember that You are ever present, that the snares cannot hold me captive when I place my faith in You. Remind me, Lord, that even when fear attempts to engulf me, You are a fortress surrounding me, providing shelter from the storm. As we read in Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." I clothe myself in this truth and abandon the worries that threaten to cloud my mind.
Oh, how I feel the weight of sudden fear, God! It creeps up unannounced, disrupting my peace with unsettling thoughts and scenarios that take root in my heart. When fear comes, it often speaks loudly, drowning out the gentle whispers of Your hope and guidance. Teach me, Father, to turn my ear and my heart towards You in these pressing moments. Let my first response to fear be solemn prayer rather than anxious thoughts. May my heart fixate on Isaiah 41:10, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
Lord, I pray for clarity and discernment to see beyond the snares that surround me. It is easy to become ensnared in doubt and disappointment, but I desire to keep my eyes fixed upon Your promises. Each promise in Your Word is a light that illuminates my path. Help me to meditate on Your goodness and love even in the dark times.
Grant me the courage to face my fears with unwavering faith. Empower me, Lord, to step boldly into the unknown, trusting that, regardless of how daunting it may appear, You are walking beside me. I cast my cares upon You, for I know that You care for me deeply (1 Peter 5:7). You gather my tears and understand my fears. You can rescue me from the snares of distress because You are faithful and true.
Heavenly Father, as I encounter obstacles in life, remind me to seek Your refuge continually. When the weight of the world seems too heavy, I ask for Your Holy Spirit to lift me and create a sense of peace within me. Help me to remember that even when I cannot see the path ahead, You are the light unto my feet (Psalm 119:105).
O Lord, I commit every fear, every snare that seeks to entrap me, into Your capable hands. I trust in Your justice and mercy, knowing that even in the fiery furnace, You are with me.
In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray, Amen.
