A Prayer of Gratitude and Commission
"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you." - John 15:16

Heavenly Father,
In the quietness of this moment, I bow my heart before You, giving thanks for the profound revelation found in the words of Your Son, Jesus Christ: "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you" (John 15:16, KJV). Lord, I am humbled as I reflect on the depth of Your love and the intentionality with which You have called each of us to be part of Your divine purpose.
Thank You for choosing me. In a world that often feels overwhelming and confusing, Your choice stands as a beacon of hope and purpose in my life. Your decision to ordain me is not based on my own merits or worthiness, but on Your grace and sovereign plan. Lord, help me to never take this privilege lightly or for granted. I am grateful for Your faithfulness that calls me, equips me, and empowers me to fulfill the mission You have set before me.
As I ponder the weight of the commission You have given, I ask for Your strength and guidance. You have chosen me for a specific purpose: to bring forth fruit. This fruit is not just for my own gain but is meant to bless and nourish others, to reflect Your love into the world, and to draw others closer to You. Lord, I confess that there are times I have faltered in this calling. I have been hesitant to share Your love with others, and my commitment to spreading the Gospel has waned. Forgive me for my hesitation, Lord, and renew in me a spirit of boldness and excitement. Ignite in my heart a passion to bear fruit that lasts and is a testament to Your goodness.
Teach me, Lord, what it means to bring forth fruit that remains. Ensure that my actions, words, and even my thoughts are aligned with Your desires. I pray that I may exhibit the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—in every aspect of my life. May these fruits draw others to seek the source of this abundance, which is found only in You. Let each interaction I have with others be a reflection of Your grace and a testimony to Your saving power.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I bring my requests to You. I long to be an instrument of Your will on earth, and I trust Your promise that whatsoever I shall ask of You in His name, You may give. I seek wisdom in my decisions and discernment in my relationships. I ask for opportunities to minister to those around me and for the courage to step into those moments boldly. I pray for the hearts of those yet to know You; soften them and prepare them to receive Your message of love.
Lord, I acknowledge that my ability to bring forth lasting fruit is entirely reliant on my relationship with You. Help me to remain in You, as You remain in me. Teach me how to abide in Your love and to draw strength from Your presence. Let me be rooted and grounded in Your Word, so that I may operate from a place of abundance rather than scarcity. Enable me to find rest in Your embrace while simultaneously feeling the urgency of Your call.
I thank You, Father, for the confidence that comes with this calling. Let my life reflect the glory and grace of Jesus Christ, our Savior. May I live in such a way that others see You in me and are changed by Your love. And as I go forth to fulfill Your ordained plan, let each step echo with the joyful assurance that I am chosen, beloved, and commissioned by You.
In Jesus’ powerful name, I pray. Amen.
