A Prayer for Eternal Life in Christ
"That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life." - John 3:15

Heavenly Father,
I come before You today with a humble heart, filled with gratitude for the profound gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ. As I meditate upon the words of Your holy scripture, specifically John 3:15, which declares that "That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life," I am reminded of the incredible promise that You extend to each one of us.
Lord, I thank You for the depth of love that You have demonstrated by sending Your only begotten Son into the world—not to condemn us, but that through Him we might be saved. Even when we were lost in sin, You provided a way for us to come back into fellowship with You. In this moment, I am reminded of the weight of that statement: "whosoever believeth." It encompasses every person, regardless of their background, their past, or the burdens they carry. Your invitation to believe in Christ is universal, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
Father, I ask that You instill in me a deeper understanding of what it means to believe in Jesus. Help me to comprehend the significance of His sacrifice on the cross and the resurrection that followed. Teach me to trust in Him fully, to surrender my worries, fears, and doubts into His capable hands, knowing that in Him resides the power to grant me eternal life.
Oh Lord, I pray for those around me—family, friends, and strangers—who may not yet know this truth. My heart aches for those who are lost, who wander in darkness, seeking fulfillment in the fleeting pleasures of this world. I ask that You open their hearts and minds to the reality of who Jesus is. May the Holy Spirit work within them, revealing the depth of their need for a Savior. Let them hear that glorious message: that any who believe in Him will not perish but will inherit the promise of eternal life.
Help me, Father, to be a light in their lives. Let my actions and words reflect the love of Christ as I share the good news of salvation. Grant me wisdom and courage to speak boldly about my faith, sharing how You have transformed my life through believing in Jesus. May my testimony be a beacon of hope that leads others to seek You, the source of everlasting life.
As I reflect upon the eternal life You offer, I am filled with awe and reverence. Thank you for the assurance that death is not the end, but rather a transition into Your glorious presence. I am comforted by the knowledge that through faith in Christ, I have been promised a place in Your kingdom—a place where there are no more tears, no pain, no suffering, and where joy abounds infinitely. Oh, what a glorious day that will be!
Yet, Lord, I understand that this privilege carries a responsibility. As a believer, I am called to reflect Your love to others and to live a life that honors You. Empower me through the Holy Spirit to bear fruits of kindness, compassion, and forgiveness. Help me to walk in the light of Your truth and to remain steadfast in my faith, even amidst trials and tribulations.
Finally, I pray for a revival of belief in our world today. Let Your truth break through the apathy, confusion, and skepticism that seem to reign in hearts and minds. May churches be filled with believers who passionately proclaim the gospel and love one another as You have loved us. And may every soul across the earth understand the beautiful invitation of John 3:15—the promise that all who believe in Him shall not perish, but shall have eternal life.
Thank you, Almighty God, for this gift. I declare my faith in You and trust completely in Your promises. In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Amen.
