Prayer for Assurance in the Father’s Will
"And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day." - John 6:39

Heavenly Father,
As I come before You today, I thank You for the profound love that You exhibit toward us through Your Son, Jesus Christ. I am reminded of the words in John 6:39: "And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day." What immense comfort and assurance lie within this scripture, revealing the nature of Your will and the safety we have in You!
Lord, I acknowledge that You are the Sovereign God, the Creator of heaven and earth, the One who orders all circumstances and events according to Your divine purpose. Your will is perfect, and Your plans for us are rooted in love and gathered under the wings of Your providence. I stand in awe of how You watch over each one of us, knowing by name those whom You have given to Christ. Help me to grasp the significance of this verse deeply—to understand that in the vastness of this world, I am seen, known, and cherished.
As You have given us to Your Son, we are enveloped by His grace. Help me, dear Lord, to believe wholeheartedly that in Your eyes, there is no loss. Your desire is not only to protect but also to resurrect—to raise us up again on that glorious last day. Let this promise resonate in my heart and chase away any fears of abandonment or despair.
I ask that You instill confidence within me as I navigate through life's trials and temptations. Sometimes sin and the struggles of this world can feel overwhelming, leading me to question my worth and my standing in Your family. But as I dwell on John 6:39, remind me that I am in the eternal grasp of Your grace, a gift that no one can snatch away. Help me to play my part in the body of Christ, knowing that I am both treasured and tasked with the ministry of reconciliation.
Father, I lift up to You those who are doubting their place in Your family. There are many in our midst who feel lost, broken, or unworthy, believing that they are beyond redemption. May Your word, coupled with the assurance of John 6:39, reach their hearts and draw them closer to You. Help us to be extensions of Your love, actively pursuing those who feel they might be too far gone, reminding them that Your will is to lose nothing, that every soul carries immense value in Your eyes.
We live in a world rife with uncertainty, where it is so easy to focus on the chaos surrounding us. Help us to collect our thoughts and center them on the truth found in Your will. I ask that You grant me peace, together with a fiery hope that, even in the darkest of times, You are working all things for good. Your Son, who was sent to fulfill Your will, ensures that no one who comes to Him would perish. May I have faith in this unshakeable truth every day of my life.
Finally, Oh Lord, I long for the day when we will be united with You eternally. The last day, the day of resurrection, when we shall see Your face and rejoice in the eternal binding of love and grace. Until that day, let me live out my calling with purpose, laboring for the Kingdom and encouraging my brethren, so none will be lost. Let me shine Your light brightly, sharing the promise of resurrection with everyone I meet.
In all things, let me glorify You, for I know that Your will shall prevail, and nothing of Your creation shall be lost. Thank You for the assurance that we have in You, that You are not only the Author but also the Finisher of our faith.
In the name of Jesus I pray, who will not lose one of those You have given Him. Amen.
