Prayer for Divine Assurance and Courage
"¶ And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee." - Joshua 10:8

O Sovereign Lord of Hosts,
As I come before You today, I am reminded of the profound assurance You bestowed upon Joshua in his time of need. In the book of Joshua 10:8, You spoke with divine authority, saying unto him, "Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee." I lift my heart in gratitude for Your unchanging nature, for You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Your promises are as sturdy as the mountains, and as faithful as the rising sun.
O Lord, I acknowledge that fear often grips my heart. I confess that in the face of challenges, adversaries, and overwhelming circumstances, I have allowed doubt and anxiety to overshadow the faith that You have built within me. Like Joshua, I may stand at the precipice of overwhelming odds, feeling inadequate and unprepared for the battles that lie ahead. But I thank You, Lord, for Your words of comfort. You remind me today, just as You did with Joshua, that I need not be afraid, for You have already secured the victory.
Father, I ask that You embolden my spirit. Help me to look beyond the physical conflicts and the daunting giants that I encounter daily. Permit me to see with the eyes of faith, recognizing that even in the depths of struggle, You are actively working all things for my good and Your glory. Please strengthen my resolve to trust in Your deliverance as You promised Joshua, reminding me that the battles I face are ultimately Your battles, and victory is guaranteed because of Your mighty hand.
Each situation I confront feels monumental; whether it be challenges at work, strained relationships, health problems, or financial worries, they loom large before me. Yet today, I choose to stand upon the foundation of Your word where You declare that no enemy shall prevail against me. I silence the voice of fear, the whispers of doubt, and the lies that tell me I will not succeed. Instead, I declare faith, courage, and the assurance of Your unwavering presence beside me.
Lord, I pray for a heart that mirrors Joshua’s resoluteness. Fill me with a spirit of bravery and determination, a spirit that knows I am not alone in this fight. Remind me that every challenge, every struggle, is an opportunity for You to demonstrate Your power and glory. May I never forget that victory lies not in my strength or ability, but in my surrender to Your will and Your might to lead me through.
As I face the uncertainties that life brings, I lay before You all my worries and concerns. I cast them at Your altar, knowing that You are the God who fights for Your children. I trust that as I step forward in faith, You will clear my path and go before me, making the crooked places straight and leveling the mountains that intimidate me.
Lord, also pray for those around me—my family, friends, and community who may struggle with their own fears and challenges. May they find solace in the same truths that comfort me today. Let Your promises wash over them like a refreshing breeze, igniting hope and erasing doubt. Let us unite in courage, fueled by the knowledge that You are on our side.
Finally, O God, I offer a prayer of thanksgiving. Thank You for the victories of the past, the lessons learned through difficulties, and the faith You continue to build within me. I trust You with my life and every moment, embracing the truth that "I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee."
In the precious name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen.
