A Prayer for Unquenchable Fire and Sacrifice
"And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings." - Leviticus 6:12

O Mighty and Eternal God, the God who instituted rituals of worship for Thy people and commanded them to keep the flame of sacrifice burning, I come before Thee in awe and reverence. With the words uttered in Leviticus 6:12 as my guide, I lift my heart in prayer: "And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace offerings."
Gracious Lord, I beseech Thee to ignite within me a fervent flame of devotion that cannot be extinguished. Just as Thou commanded that the fire on the altar should never die out, I pray that the fire of faith, love, and commitment within my heart remains ever ablaze. Teach me to daily add wood to this fire, Lord, so that it may grow brighter and warmer, drawing me ever closer to Thy holy presence.
Father, I recognize that the act of burning wood upon the altar is symbolic of the sacrifices we are called to make in our lives. Help me, dear God, to offer my life as a living sacrifice, just as Romans 12:1 instructs. Let every action I take today, every word I speak, and every thought I harbor be an offering unto Thee—a fragrant aroma that pleases Your heart. May I not grow weary or complacent in my worship, but rather may I rise each morning with a renewed zeal to lay my offerings before You.
Lord, in our busy lives, it is so easy to allow the flames of our faith to flicker and fade. I confess that there have been times when I neglected to tend to my spiritual altar, allowing distractions and the weight of the world to dim my light. Forgive me for those moments of neglect, and help me to re-establish the holy practices that will keep my flame alive. Remind me of the importance of daily prayer, meditation on Your Word, and fellowship with believers. May I have the discipline to lay aside my own desires and seek Your will above all else.
As the priests of old were called to be diligent in their duties, I ask, Lord, that I may also fulfill my responsibilities with joy and enthusiasm. Instill in me a heart that yearns to serve, to offer myself in the pursuit of peace, much like the peace offerings laid upon the altar. Let my service be motivated by love and not obligation, so that I may be a reflection of Your glory to the world around me.
Gracious God, I also pray for the fat of the peace offerings—the richness of my relationship with You. Let it overflow in the joy of companionship, the assurance of Your promises, and the peace that surpasses all understanding. Help me to joyfully give unto You, knowing that what I offer is small compared to the greatness of Your love and provision. Teach me that every act of generosity, every moment of love shown to another, is a part of my offering to You.
May Your holy fire transform my heart and life, kindling a passion for righteousness that is contagious. Let my worship, fervent and sincere, shine forth brightly in a world that desperately needs the warmth and light of Your truth. I submit my will to You, O Lord, asking that You consume me with Your presence and set my soul ablaze for Your glorious name.
Thank You, Father, for the promise of Your Word. Let us never forget the significance of the altar, the fire, and the offerings we present before You. May the fire within me burn bright until You return. In Jesus’ name, I pray,
Amen.
