A Prayer of Repentance and Restoration
"If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour;" - Leviticus 6:2

O gracious and eternal God,
We come before You today, humbled and contrite in spirit, recognizing the weight of our sinfulness. Lord, Your Word in Leviticus 6:2 reminds us, "If a soul sin, and commit a trespass against the LORD, and lie unto his neighbour in that which was delivered him to keep, or in fellowship, or in a thing taken away by violence, or hath deceived his neighbour." This verse holds a mirror to our hearts, revealing the darkness within and the ways we have faltered against Your holiness, our own neighbors, and ourselves.
Father, we acknowledge that we have sinned in many ways, both known and unknown. We have trespassed against You, the Almighty, when we placed our own desires above Your commandments, when we allowed pride to seep into our interactions, and when we chose to stray from Your path of righteousness. We confess our transgressions before You, Lord, asking for Your forgiveness, knowing that without You, we are utterly lost.
As we enter into this sacred moment of prayer, we ask You to search our hearts and reveal to us any instance where we have deceived our neighbors or lied in speech or deed. Examine us closely, O Lord; let not a single thought go unchecked. Have we failed to honor trusts placed in our hands? Have we misused the resources and relationships You have entrusted us with? Forgive us, dear God, for our failures to uphold the truth—help us to respond with integrity and love.
Lord, we recognize the devastation caused by deceit and dishonor. In our interactions with others, we pray for the courage to speak truthfully, to maintain fidelity in our promises, and to honor commitments we have made. May our words and actions be a reflection of Your character—filled with grace, truth, and humility.
We also lift up those to whom we may have been unkind or harsh. If we have seized anything from others—be it material possessions, opportunities, or trust—help us to make amends and restore that which we have wrongfully taken. Let our hearts be softened, Lord, that we may seek reconciliation and healing where fractures have formed. In a world often marred by violence and deceit, let us be vessels of Your peace and ambassadors of Your love.
Father, we ask that You instill into our hearts a desire for righteousness, that we might actively uphold justice and mercy in our dealings. Teach us to act justly and love mercy, for in these, we reflect the heart of Jesus. Let us not only seek our own peace and prosperity but also labor for the well-being of our neighbors, extending grace even to those who have wronged us.
Lord, we thank You that even in our failures, Your grace is greater still. We acknowledge that Your love for us is not contingent upon our perfection but grounded in Your nature, unchanging and eternal. In our shortcomings, we find the opportunity to rely more upon Your strength, O God. We desire not just to be forgiven, but to live transformed lives that model the forgiveness and love that You so freely give us.
Finally, we ask for Your guidance as we endeavor to walk in the light of Your truth. Net our actions and decisions in peace, wisdom, and humility, so we may become catalysts for change in our families, communities, and the world. Help us to never take lightly the responsibility of our fellowship with one another, knowing that our relationships are sacred in Your sight.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
