A Prayer of Atonement and Forgiveness
"And the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD: and it shall be forgiven him for any thing of all that he hath done in trespassing therein." - Leviticus 6:7

Heavenly Father,
I come before You in the spirit of humility and reverence, recognizing that You are the Sovereign Lord, holy and just, who sees all that I have done, and hears all that I have said. In the sacred words of Leviticus 6:7, it is stated, "And the priest shall make an atonement for him before the LORD: and it shall be forgiven him for any thing of all that he hath done in trespassing therein." Lord, I embrace this profound truth, acknowledging the gift of atonement You have graciously provided for me through Your Son, Jesus Christ.
O merciful God, I stand before You aware of my shortcomings, the trespasses that separate me from Your holiness. I reflect on the countless times I have faltered, wandered off the path of righteousness, and indulged in thoughts or actions that do not align with Your will. The weight of sin can be heavy upon me, but I am comforted to know that You have established a way for my restoration and forgiveness.
In Your infinite wisdom, You ordained that a priest would intercede on behalf of the people, symbolizing the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus, our High Priest, who bore our sins and cleansed us with His precious blood. Thank You, Lord, for the ultimate atonement—one that not only covers my sins but completely eliminates their hold over my life. I recognize that it is by the blood of Jesus that I can approach Your throne with confidence, knowing that condemnation has no power over me.
As I meditate on this scripture, I ask that You soften my heart, Father. Help me to embrace the fullness of this atonement, to grasp that I am forgiven not through my merit but through Your grace. Remove from my spirit any feelings of guilt that linger after I have sought Your forgiveness. Teach me to accept the pardon that You offer so freely and to walk in the freedom that comes from being cleansed before You.
Lord, I pray that as I receive Your forgiveness, I may also extend that same grace to others. Let me not become a prisoner of grievances, nor hold onto bitterness or resentment. Instead, help me to offer forgiveness generously, understanding that we are all in need of Your mercy. Remind me that as I forgive others, I reflect Your love and compassion—qualities that represent the very essence of Your character.
I also lift up those around me who may be struggling with feelings of unworthiness and regret. May Your words pierce their hearts and awaken them to the truth found in Leviticus 6:7—that there is no sin so great that it cannot be forgiven, no trespass too egregious that cannot be atoned for through faith in You. May they come to You, confessing and repenting, assured that You will receive them with open arms.
In this moment, Lord, I ask for a heart change in me. Purify me from within; let the light of Your love shine brightly through my life. May my actions, words, and attitudes reflect Your mercy and grace. And like the priest of old, may I boldly declare this truth: that through Jesus, there is forgiveness for every sin we have committed—I am cleansed, I am restored, I am Your child.
Thank You, Father, for the gift of atonement and the promise of forgiveness. May I carry this message of hope to a world desperately in need of Your love and redemption. I trust in Your everlasting goodness and grace.
In the powerful name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen.
