Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today filled with gratitude for Your endless grace. As we read Your Word in Luke 11:41, “But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you,” we are reminded of the profound truth that lies within our call to generosity and the purity of our intentions.

Lord, I ask that You cleanse my heart of any selfish desires that may hinder my ability to give to others. Help me, Father, to see beyond my own needs and wants, and open my eyes to the opportunities laid before me to bless those who are less fortunate. Teach me how to give alms—this act of kindness and charity that comes from the abundance of what You have graciously bestowed upon me.

I understand that giving alms is more than a mere transaction; it is an act of love, empathy, and service. I pray that you instill within me a spirit of compassion, that I may give with a cheerful heart, not grudgingly or of necessity (as taught in 2 Corinthians 9:7). Help me to recognize the 'such things' that I possess. Whether it be time, resources, emotional support, or simply a listening ear, give me wisdom to identify what I can share freely with others in need. I realize that the power of almsgiving lies not just in the material aspect, but also in the connection I make with those around me. As I engage with my community, may I find common ground and understand their struggles, so that I may truly give from a place of empathy.

Lord, as I endeavor to live out this verse, remind me that cleanliness comes from within. I ask for Your help in keeping my intentions pure and my motivations sincere. Protect me from the pride that may arise from acts of charity, and guard my heart against becoming boastful. Teach me humility as I serve others; let my service go unnoticed by the world and be pleasing in Your sight.

I pray for those whom I am called to serve. Illuminate their paths, heal their wounds, and fill their hearts with hope. Let my offerings be a testament to Your faithfulness and a source of encouragement for the weary. May my actions provoke others to extend their hands in kindness, creating a ripple effect of loving deeds throughout our community.

As I close this prayer, I ask You, Lord, to help me remember that all things are clean unto me through Christ Jesus.
