A Prayer for Faithful Stewardship

"And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds." - Luke 19:18

"And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds." - Luke 19:{verse.verse_number}

Heavenly Father,

As I come before You today, I am reminded of the words found in the Gospel of Luke, chapter 19, verse 18, where it says, "And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds." Lord, I thank You for the wisdom contained in Your Scriptures, and for the lessons You teach us about stewardship, responsibility, and the gifts that You have entrusted to each of us.

Lord, You are the Master of all creation, and every good gift comes from above. Just as the nobleman entrusted his servants with pounds, You have entrusted us with talents, resources, and opportunities. I humbly ask that You guide me in how I can be a faithful steward of what You have given me. Help me to recognize the potential that lies within each blessing You have bestowed upon me.

In a world that often distracts and entices us to waste what we have, I pray for the clarity to see where I should invest my time, energy, and resources. Teach me to look beyond my immediate gratification and to focus on long-term fruitfulness. Just as the second servant reported a fivefold gain to his master, help me to multiply the gifts You have given me to bring glory to Your name and to advance Your kingdom on earth.

Lord, I pray that You would instill in me the spirit of diligence and commitment. May I approach each task with dedication, treating my responsibilities as sacred opportunities to serve You. Help me to be proactive instead of reactive, seeking out ways to use my talents creatively and effectively. Inspire me to seek out and embrace opportunities for growth—whether in my career, my relationships, or my spiritual life.

I ask for the courage to step out in faith, even when the path ahead seems daunting. Just as the servants in the parable were rewarded according to their performance, help me to remain steadfast in applying my skills and resources with the intention of producing a return that pleases You. May I not be afraid of failure, but rather embrace risks that align with Your will, knowing that You are with me every step of the way.

Father, as I reflect on Your abundant goodness, I am also reminded of those around me who may not yet know You. Help me to be a good steward of my faith, sharing the hope and love of Jesus with others. May my actions, generosity, and testimony reflect the transformative power of Your grace. Just as You have entrusted me with blessings, enable me to share those blessings with those in need, multiplying Your love in the world.

I also pray for wisdom to discern which opportunities to embrace and which to let go. Guide my decisions, Lord, so that I invest my energy in eternal matters rather than temporary pursuits. Help me to prioritize what matters most—my relationship with You, my family, and my community—ensuring that my life reflects Your values.

As I strive to be a faithful steward, I acknowledge that I need Your help. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit to empower my actions, awaken my heart to opportunities, and sharpen my discernment. Let my life be a testament to Your faithfulness, demonstrating to others how You can multiply the seemingly small gifts into great blessings when yielded to You.

Thank You, Lord, for the promise that as we seek to be faithful in the little things, You will entrust us with even greater responsibilities. May I always remember that it is not my efforts alone that create the increase but rather Your blessing upon my endeavors.

In Jesus' name, I pray,

Amen.
