Prayer of Reflection and Surrender Before the Stone

"Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder." - Luke 20:18

"Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder." - Luke 20:{verse.verse_number}

Heavenly Father,

In the stillness of this moment, I come before You, acknowledging Your sovereignty and the profound truth found in Your Word. Today, I reflect on the words of Luke 20:18, which say, "Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder." Lord, as I meditate upon this Scripture, I recognize the weight of its meaning and the call it extends to my heart.

O Lord, I bow my head in humility, asking for the wisdom to understand the significance of the Stone. You, O Christ, are the cornerstone of my faith, the very foundation upon which my life is built. In Your presence, I find the courage to lay bare my soul, as I consider what it means to fall upon that Stone. I understand that to fall upon You requires surrender, a yielding of my pride and an acknowledgment of my need for Your grace. Lord, help me to embrace this brokenness, for I know that only through brokenness can I truly be made whole in You.

Father, I pray that I may willingly fall upon You, recognizing my human frailty and the limitations of my understanding. Teach me to seek Your guidance and to embrace the challenges that come as tests of my faith. May I approach the altar of Your grace with a contrite heart, shedding my burdens, my ambitions, and my fears. In this act of surrender, I pray for healing and transformation, knowing that only through submission to Your will can I experience the life that You desire for me.

As I allow myself to be broken before You, I ask that You would mold me, shape me, and refine my character. Purify my motives, cleanse my heart, and remove any impurities that hinder my relationship with You. I trust that You are the potter, and I am merely the clay. Lord, may this vulnerability before You not lead to despair but rather to a deeper relationship with You, filled with love and renewed purpose. Let me find joy in my brokenness, for I am confident that in the cracks of my life, Your light will shine through.

Yet, Lord, the other part of this verse weighs heavily on my heart as well. "But on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder." I pray for those who stand in opposition to Your will, those who seek to reject Your truth and resist Your Spirit. Have mercy on those who are presently unaware of the consequences of their rebellion against You. Open their eyes to the reality of their choices and lead them to repentance before the day of reckoning comes upon them.

I intercede for our world, where darkness often overshadows the light of Your love. May Your justice prevail for those who mock Your Word and those who ignore the warnings that come from Your heart. I ask that You would send Your Spirit to convict, to draw, and to restore. Allow Your grace to reign even in the hardest of hearts, softening their resolve and drawing them back into the fold of Your love.

Lord, I also lift up my own heart. Examine my ways and reveal any areas where I may be standing in resistance to Your will. Deliver me from any pride that prevents me from yielding to Your truth. Help me to realize the beauty of falling upon the Stone and experiencing the comfort and love that come with complete submission to Your plan.

Thank You, Father, for Your patience and grace. Thank You for Your Word that serves as a mirror for my soul. May I fall upon You daily, embracing the opportunity to be broken so that I may be built up anew in the likeness of Christ. I ask this in His precious name, my Rock and my Salvation. Amen.
