A Prayer for Marvel at God's Wonders
"And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day." - Luke 5:26

Dear Heavenly Father,
As I come before You today, I am overwhelmed in reverence and awe at Your magnificent works. In Luke 5:26, we read, "And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day." Lord, I stand with the people who witnessed the miraculous acts of Your Son, Jesus Christ; I, too, am struck with wonder at the blessings You pour out upon us and the mysteries of Your divine presence in our lives.
Father, I am truly grateful for the moments in my life when I have seen Your hand at work. From the simplest of joys to the most profound experiences, each one serves to remind me of Your sovereignty and grace. I pray that I may cultivate a heart that is always open to witnessing the astonishing ways You choose to reveal Yourself. Let me not take for granted the wonders around me, but rather let them inspire my soul to glorify Your name in every circumstance.
I beseech You, Lord, to open the eyes of my heart, that I may see Your glory in the ordinary and the extraordinary alike. Help me to recognize the ‘strange things’ You present before me, those manifestations of Your power that defy human understanding. Teach me to celebrate these moments with an attitude of gratitude and praise as those who witnessed the miracles during the time of Jesus did. May my amazement lead me to lift my voice and my heart in worship to You, for the gifts of awe and wonder are to be shared with others.
Lord, let fear and reverence flood my soul—not a fear that cripples, but a holy fear that draws me closer to You. In the presence of Your greatness, may I understand my place as Your humble servant. Let that understanding compel me to act and speak boldly in Your name, encouraging those around me to seek Your truth and experience Your goodness for themselves. I desire, O Lord, to be a messenger of hope, carrying Your wondrous news into a world that desperately needs to hear it.
Throughout the trials of life, help me remember Your past deeds: the healing of the paralyzed man, the calming of the storm, the resurrection of the dead. These powerful reminders reveal that nothing is impossible for You. In moments of struggle, may I turn back to these truths. When circumstances feel overwhelming, grant me the faith to look for Your strangeness—the unexpected rescue or provision that reminds me that I serve a God who delights in doing the unimaginable.
As I meditate on Luke 5:26, let my amazement at You not be fleeting. Instead, may it ignite a fire in my heart that propels me into action—action that reflects Your love and goodness to those around me. Help me share my testimonies of Your strange works with others, turning astonishment into opportunity for dialogue about faith and Your nature. Let my story be a testament of how one encounter with You can change everything.
Eternal God, I stand today in a world that often overlooks the divine moments at hand. I pray for the courage to seek, acknowledge, and embrace the wonders You lay before us each day. Fill my heart with praise, O Lord, as we collectively seek to glorify You. Unite us in our amazement, that together we might proclaim You as our only source of hope and strength.
I ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, who performed great wonders on earth and continues to perform miracles in our very lives today. Amen.
