O Heavenly Father,

In the quiet of this moment, I come before You, seeking understanding and wisdom as I reflect upon the powerful words of Your Son, Jesus Christ, as recorded in Matthew 11:19: "The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children."

Lord, I am reminded here of the contrast between societal expectations and the profound love you embody in all your interactions. Your willingness to share meals and fellowship with those marginalized by society is a beautiful testament to the acceptance and grace that permeate Your heart. Help me to embrace this spirit of community and love, recognizing that friendship and connection are vital for our human experience.

I find it so easy to become ensnared by the judgments and criticism of others, much like those who watched Your every move, seeking to discredit your message. Teach me, Father, to look beyond appearances and the murmurs of judgmental hearts to see the deeper truth in each person. Let me not be quick to label the actions of others as right or wrong, but instead, lead me to approach each situation with compassion and an open heart.

Help me, Lord, to understand the significance of Your comfort with publicans and sinners. Give me the strength to emulate Your love, to reach out to those who society overlooks, and to offer them the friendship that reflects Your boundless grace. May I never be ashamed to befriend those whom others reject, modeling the compassion that You bestowed upon all humanity. Teach me that wisdom often resides with those that the world disregards and that true understanding comes from love, not judgment.

As I ponder on the phrase "wisdom is justified of her children," I recognize that true wisdom is reflected not in avoidance or separation from the 'least of these' but in engagement, relationship, and love. Help me, Lord, to be a vessel of Your wisdom. Grant me discernment to understand the needs of those around me and the courage to reach out. May my life be one that shows the fruits of Your wisdom, and may it touch the lives of those who seek understanding and belonging.

I pray that any gluttony and excess in my life will be replaced with moderation and gratitude. Help me to remember the joy of sharing meals, not just as physical sustenance but as a relational bridge that brings people together. Remind me that the true feast is not merely about food or drink but about cultivating relationships, fostering love and fellowship among brothers and sisters.

In moments of frustration or disappointment when I feel misunderstood or labeled, remind me of Your own experiences so that I might find solace in your embrace. Strengthen me in my faith so that I do not become disheartened by the incorrect perceptions others may hold about me. Allow Your Spirit to reside in me, giving me peace and clarity as I walk through the judgments of this world.

Finally, Lord, I ask for the boldness to share Your love openly, just as You did. Allow my actions, words, and heart to mirror Your warm invitation to those who are lost or marginalised. Let me be known as a friend of sinners, as You were, unafraid to extend grace to everyone, for all are deserving of Your love.

As I close this prayer, I give thanks for Your lessons of grace and comradery. Thank You for the love You pour down into my life and for the opportunity to reflect Your wisdom through my actions. Soften my heart and open my eyes that I may witness the beauty of Your creation in every person I encounter.
