"But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not." - Matthew 25:12

Heavenly Father,

I come before You today, humbled and reverent, with a heart that longs to know You more deeply, to understand Your ways, and to prepare my soul for the day of Your coming. As the words of our Lord Jesus echo in my heart, "But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not" (Matthew 25:12), I pause to reflect upon the weight of this truth.

Lord, in this moment of prayer, I ask for Your mercy and grace to wash over me. I recognize that in life’s distractions and the busyness of my daily routine, it is all too easy to lose sight of what truly matters—the relationship and intimacy I am called to have with You. I do not wish to hear the words "I know you not" on that great day, but rather to rejoice in being counted among Your faithful ones, those who recognize Your voice and follow You closely.

Father God, I seek Your wisdom and clarity in understanding what it means to be known by You and to know You in return. I turn to Your Word, believing it to be a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. I want to delve into the scriptures, to saturate myself in prayer, worship, and the act of service to others so that I may reflect Your glory in my life. Help me to discern the things of this world that may pull me away from a steep and steadfast walk with You.

In the parable of the ten virgins, You remind us, Father, of the importance of being prepared, of keeping our lamps filled with oil and our hearts pure and focused on You. Keep me vigilant, oh Lord, so that I may never become complacent in my faith; help me to always be expectant of Your return, living each day as if it may be the moment I meet You face to face. Let not my heart grow weary, but let it be ablaze with passion for Your presence.

Holy Spirit, I invite You to guide me deeper into the knowledge of God’s heart. Teach me how to abide in Your presence, to engage with You in prayer and praise, and allow me to experience the intimacy that comes from spending time with You. Show me the areas in my life where I may be lacking, the distractions that lead me astray, and the hesitations that keep me from drawing closer to You.

Lord, You have given us the gift of community, and I pray for the fellowship of believers to encourage one another in our walks of faith. Make us bold in our love for You, so that we may spur each other toward good works that will shine Your light in our dark world. Let us be a beacon of hope for those who are lost, reflecting the grace that You have lavished upon us.

In gratitude, I submit to You the moments of my day, my choices, and my life. May all I do be in alignment with Your will and pleasing in Your sight. When I stand before You on that day, I long to hear the words "Well done, thou good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23), rather than "I know you not." Let me diligently seek to serve You and love others, living out the command to love my neighbor as myself.

As I cultivate this relationship with You, strengthen my heart and spirit, Lord. I ask for the oil of joy to fill my heart, so that I may extend love, compassion, and grace to those around me. May my life serve as a testament to Your goodness, so that many may be drawn to You and come to know You through my testimony.

I pray all of these things in the blessed name of Jesus, my Savior and Lord. Amen.
