Holy and righteous Father, I come before Thee in reverence and humility, acknowledging Thy greatness and my great need of Thy mercy and guidance. I praise Thee for Thy truth that does not shift with feelings or times, and for Thy Word that shines as a sure light when the world is dark and confusing. Lord, I set my heart upon the words of Thy Son, and I confess that I need them to shape my steps, my desires, and my choices each day: “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

Father, I admit that my flesh is drawn to what is wide, easy, and popular. I confess that I am tempted to choose comfort over obedience, acceptance over holiness, and my own will over Thine. Forgive me for the times I have drifted toward the broad paths of pride, selfish ambition, hidden sin, and careless speech. Forgive me for excusing what grieves Thy Spirit and for delaying repentance when Thou hast called me to change. Cleanse me, Lord, not only from outward wrongdoing, but from the secret roots of sin—resentment, envy, lust, bitterness, hypocrisy, and unbelief. Wash me thoroughly, and renew a right spirit within me.

Lord Jesus, Thou hast spoken plainly: “Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” I ask Thee to make this verse living and active within my soul. Let it not be a sentence I merely recite, but a holy call that awakens me. Teach me what it means that the gate is strait. Teach me to enter with surrender, to come without pretense, to lay down my weapons of self-rule, and to bow to Thy authority. I pray that Thou wouldst keep me from trying to carry through that gate what cannot fit—my pride, my love of applause, my stubbornness, and my secret indulgences. Give me grace to let go of every weight and every sin that would hold me back.

Father, if the way is narrow, then I need Thy wisdom for each step. Guide me when the right path is not celebrated, when obedience costs me something, and when being faithful makes me feel alone. Strengthen me to choose truth when compromise seems easier. Give me courage to say no when temptation is persistent, and give me endurance when my progress feels slow. When my heart grows weary, remind me that the narrow way “leadeth unto life,” and that every act of obedience is not wasted but gathered in Thy sight.

Lord, Thou hast said that “few there be that find it.” This humbles me and causes me to tremble. Keep me from presumption. Keep me watchful in prayer, honest in self-examination, and quick to repent. I ask Thee also for compassion, not pride. Let me never look upon others with contempt, as though I am better. Instead, fill me with Thy love for the wandering, the deceived, the broken, and the distracted. Make me a faithful witness—gentle, truthful, patient, and bold—so that others may seek Thee and find the way that leadeth unto life.

Father, I pray for my home and for those entrusted to my care. Place within us a hunger for Thy Word and a joy in righteousness. Establish our steps in holiness when no one is watching. Teach us to love what Thou lovest and to hate what Thou hatest. Set a guard over our eyes, our ears, our thoughts, and our tongues. Let our private lives agree with our public words. And when we stumble, draw us quickly back through repentance, that we may continue on the narrow way with humility.

Lord, I ask for discernment in a world filled with many voices. Help me to test what I hear, to measure every message by Thy truth, and to refuse teachings that excuse sin or minimize Thy holiness. Let my conscience be tender, not hardened. Let my heart be teachable, not defensive. And when I am corrected by Thy Word, grant me grace to obey without delay.

Above all, Father, I ask that Thou wouldst keep my eyes upon Christ. When I fear, remind me that Thou art with me. When I am lonely, remind me that Thy fellowship is better than the world’s approval. When I am tempted, provide the way of escape. When I succeed, keep me humble. When I fail, keep me from despair. Lead me onward, step by step, through the strait gate and along the narrow way, until the journey is complete and I stand in the life Thou hast promised.

I receive Thy Word with faith, and I cling to Thy promise that the narrow way “leadeth unto life.” Make me among those who find it, and make me faithful to walk in it all my days. I ask these things with a surrendered heart, giving Thee all glory, honor, and praise. Amen.
