A Prayer for Remembrance and Integrity in Service
"Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices thereof." - Nehemiah 13:14

O Lord, Everlasting God, Creator of the heavens and the earth, I come before You today with a heart filled with gratitude and humility. I bow my head and kneel before Your throne of grace, echoing the words of Nehemiah: "Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices thereof" (Nehemiah 13:14, KJV).
Lord, as I reflect upon these words, I understand the weight they carry. Nehemiah, a faithful servant, stood up in the midst of adversity to restore the walls of Jerusalem and uphold the sanctity of Your temple. He poured out his heart, addressing not only his actions but also his deep desire for Your remembrance. In a world that often overlooks the efforts of the faithful and the sacrifices made in Your name, I too seek recognition—not for my own glory, but that Your kingdom may prosper.
God of mercy, I beseech You to look upon the deeds I have done in service to Your house. I pray, Lord, that You will find them worthy in Your sight. Each effort to build up Your church, each prayer I offer, each sacrifice I make, has been done in love and dedication to You. Let not the hours spent in service, the resources given, or the encouragement shared be forgotten. May they stand as a testament to my commitment to Your will.
I ask You, Father, to give me the strength and clarity to continue in this mission, even when trials arise. Let not the distractions of the world pull me away from the path I am called to walk, and grant me wisdom to discern the right course in challenging times. In every deed done in Your name, may I find joy and purpose, knowing that I am an instrument for Your glory.
Help me, O Lord, to maintain integrity in every action I take. As Nehemiah faced opposition and saw corruption infiltrate Your house, I too recognize that there are forces that seek to undermine my service to You. Protect my heart from bitterness, pride, and doubt that can creep in when my efforts seem unacknowledged or unappreciated. Cultivate within me a spirit that seeks not the applause of men but desires only the approval of heaven.
Gracious God, I pray for those who work alongside me in Your vineyard. Strengthen them, bless them, and remind them that their labor is not in vain. Unite us in purpose and passion to serve You faithfully, just as Nehemiah gathered the people to restore their city. We are called to be the light in the darkness, reflecting Your love and truth in every corner of our communities.
O Lord, I also plead for Your forgiveness, should there be any blind spots in my service. Show me the areas where I may have fallen short or where my motivations may not have aligned with Your heart. Purify my intentions, and guide me to restore any broken relationships or dynamics that may detract from Your work.
Finally, Almighty God, I ask for reassurance in my endeavors. As I journey forward, remind me that You are a God who sees all, hears all, and knows all. No good deed done in secret will go unrewarded; every effort to glorify Your name will be remembered by You, the ultimate judge.
I place my trust in You, knowing that my service carries eternal weight. May it be a sweet fragrance unto You, a pleasing aroma that rises before Your throne. And when the time comes for accounting, I pray that the works of my hands will be acknowledged as part of Your grand design for the salvation of souls.
In the name of Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, I pray. Amen.
