O Lord our God, Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth,

As we come before You today, we humbly acknowledge Your supreme sovereignty and divine order over all creation. We reflect on the holy word found in Numbers 10:23, which speaks of the leadership and authority bestowed upon Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur, over the tribe of Manasseh. This scripture echoes through time, revealing to us the profound significance of leadership in accordance with Your will. We pause to offer our acknowledgment and gratitude for the leaders You have raised among us, who guide us through trials and tribulations, just as Gamaliel once led his people.

Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and discernment to understand the important lessons embedded in the story of Gamaliel. His leadership over the tribe exemplifies the responsibilities and virtues we should cultivate in our own lives. May we learn from his example to lead with integrity, courage, and humility. Help us understand that those chosen to lead must serve, and those who serve must do so with a heart aligned with Your purpose.

In today’s world, we are surrounded by leaders in various spheres of influence — in our communities, our workplaces, and our nations. We beseech You, O God, to imbue them with Your Holy Spirit. Fill them with the wisdom of the ages and inspire them with the courage to make decisions that reflect righteousness and justice. Let their leadership be characterized by the principles that You have outlined in Your word, principles that lead to peace, equity, and compassion. May they embody the love of Christ, leading by example and drawing others to a deeper understanding of Your truth.

Father, we also pray for our own role as leaders in the lives of those around us. Each of us has influence, whether it be as a parent, a friend, or a colleague. Teach us how to lead effectively, grounded in the humility that recognizes we, too, are vessels of Your grace. Help us to seek the good of others above our own desires, mirroring the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ. In times of uncertainty and chaos, remind us, O Lord, of Your eternal presence. Just as You commanded the children of Israel to establish order through the leadership of their tribes, instill in us the assurance that You are orchestrating Your divine plan even when we perceive confusion. May we trust Your guidance, stepping out in faith to fulfill the tasks You set before us.

As we ponder on Gamaliel’s role as a leader of Manasseh, we also reflect on the importance of unity.
