A Prayer for Wisdom and Righteousness
"Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good." - Proverbs 14:22

Heavenly Father,
I come before You today with a humble heart, seeking Your wisdom and understanding as I meditate on Your Word. Proverbs 14:22 reminds us, "Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good." Lord, I recognize that in our human frailty, we often stray from the path of righteousness. I ask for Your guidance, that I may not err in my thoughts or my actions, but instead continuously strive to align my heart with Your will.
Father, I acknowledge the temptation that surrounds us. The world often glorifies the path of deceit and malice, leading many to devise evil plans and inflicted harm upon one another. Strengthen me, O Lord, to resist these temptations and to instead put on the armor of truth. Help me to discern the whispers of darkness and to recognize them as they arise; for I want to walk in the light of Your righteousness.
Please grant me the insight to understand the consequences of evil deeds. Allow me to see that those who plan evil not only err against You but also against themselves. Evil leads to destruction, and I pray that I may never be a vessel for such chaos. Keep my heart pure, O Lord, and guard my spirit against the lure of wickedness. May I never find myself seeking vengeance or plotting harm; instead, let my heart be filled with compassion and grace.
Lord, I desire to be someone who devises good. Help me to cultivate a heart that is intent on kindness, understanding, and a true reflection of Your love. Teach me how to actively seek opportunities to do good in my community, to lend a helping hand, to offer a listening ear, and to speak words of encouragement. Let my actions be filled with mercy, mirroring the mercy You have shown unto me.
I pray for the wisdom to see good where I may overlook it. Open my eyes so that I can appreciate the beauty in every soul, recognizing that each person is made in Your glorious image. May the kindness I show others point them to You, leading them to the truth of Your Gospel. Give me the strength to promote peace and reconciliation, and let the fruits of the Spirit be evident in my life.
Heavenly Father, I ask that You cover my interactions with mercy and truth. Let my words be a source of healing and encouragement for others, and may I always speak with honesty, standing firm in the virtues that You uphold. In a world filled with lies and misrepresentation, let me be a beacon of Your truth, reflecting Your light boldly and unashamedly.
As I engage with those around me, whether in moments of joy or conflict, teach me to frame my responses with love and understanding. Help me to remember that mercy has the power to transform, and truth has the ability to liberate. I pray that when the Spirit moves within me, I respond not with anger or malice, but with grace that is rooted in mercy and truth.
Lastly, I pray for those who may be deceived and ensnared by evil plans. Show me how to reach out to them, to guide them towards Your mercy and truth. May I be a conduit of Your love, seeking to uplift and restore those who have strayed from Your path.
Thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayer. I trust in Your promise that mercy and truth shall encompass all who devise good. I ask all these things in the precious name of my Savior, Jesus Christ.
Amen.
