Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with humble hearts, seeking Your wisdom and guidance. As we contemplate the profound truth found in Proverbs 15:18, where it says, "A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife," we realize the importance of handling our emotions with grace and patience. Lord, help us to internalize this verse and to embody its teaching in our daily lives.

God of Comfort, we acknowledge that we live in a world fraught with conflict and strife. Whether it be within our own homes, our workplaces, or even the wider society, tensions can easily escalate. As we confront these challenges, grant us the wisdom to recognize the root causes of our anger. Teach us not to react impulsively in moments of frustration but to seek understanding and reconciliation. May our actions reflect Your love and peace.

Lord, it is so easy for our tempers to flare when we encounter adversity or when we feel that our rights are being infringed upon. The wrathful man, as described in Your Word, stirs up strife, and we confess that there have been moments in our lives when we have fallen into this pattern. Forgive us, Father, for the times we allowed our anger to lead us into conflict, causing division and hurt among our family, friends, and colleagues. Help us to remember that anger, when left unchecked, can be a destructive force that tears us apart rather than brings us together.

As we strive to be more like You, O Lord, grant us the strength to be slow to anger. Teach us the value of patience and restraint, especially in heated moments. Remind us to pause and breathe deeply before we respond, to count to ten and reflect upon the impact our words and actions may have. Let our first thought not be about insisting on our own way but rather about seeking to understand the perspective of the other. May we approach each situation with kindness and humility, striving to diffuse tension rather than escalate it.

Help us, God, to recognize when we feel the stirrings of anger and to respond in a way that is pleasing to You. May our hearts be filled with compassion rather than fury. When we see conflict arise, help us to step back and assess the situation calmly. Let our first instinct be to seek resolution, to listen actively, and to empathize with those involved. Remind us that in every disagreement, there is an opportunity for growth, understanding, and healing – if only we approach it with a heart that is slow to anger.

Lord, give us the courage to confront difficult situations without adding fuel to the fire. Enable us to be peacemakers in a world that desperately needs Your peace. May we be instruments of Your love, demonstrating through our actions and words the grace that You have shown us.
