A Prayer for Refuge in the Name of the Lord
"The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe." - Proverbs 18:10

Heavenly Father,
We come before Your throne of grace today, acknowledging the majesty and might of Your name. As we reflect on the profound truth found in Proverbs 18:10, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe,” we stand in awe of the shelter and security that Your name provides. Lord, we thank You for being our strong tower, a refuge where we can find protection from the storms of life.
As we navigate through our days, we often face trials that seek to overwhelm us. The world around us can seem chaotic, and our hearts can be burdened with fear, anxiety, and uncertainty. Yet, we are reminded that in Your name, we find safety and strength. Lord, help us to understand the depth of what it means to run into Your name—to flee to the very essence of who You are, the Almighty God, our protector and our shield.
We confess that there are times when we do not immediately seek refuge in You, but instead, we turn to our own understanding or the fleeting comforts of this world. Forgive us, Lord, when we forget the power of Your name—a name that calms the storm, heals the broken-hearted, and restores our souls. Teach us to always remember that it is in You that we find our true safety, and may we daily seek to run into the strong tower that is Your presence.
Lord, we pray for those among us who feel vulnerable and exposed to the dangers that surround them. There are many who live in fear, battling personal demons or external threats that seem insurmountable. We ask that they would come to know You as their strong tower. Remind them that no matter how fierce the battle, in You, they have a place of refuge. Let them feel Your arms of love encompassing them, letting them know that they are safe in the shadow of Your wings.
As Your righteous ones, Lord, we strive to live a life that reflects Your character and Your glory. We ask that You continue to cultivate righteousness within us so that we can always run into this safe tower You have provided. Purify our hearts, sanctify our minds, and strengthen our walk so that we may reflect Your light to the world around us. May our lives be a testament to the security and peace found in trusting in You.
Help us to encourage others to seek You as well. May our words and actions point them towards the safety that comes from a relationship with You. Give us boldness to share our testimonies of how You have been our strong tower in times of trouble, and may our stories inspire others to run to You, the name above all names.
Lord, we thank You for the assurance that comes with Your presence. We acknowledge that while the world may shift and change, Your name remains a constant source of strength and safety. Let us cling to this truth every day as we encounter challenges both big and small. In our highest highs and our lowest lows, may we find comfort in knowing that we can always run to You.
We proclaim now that we trust in the name of the LORD, our strong tower. May we find refuge there, strengthening our faith, renewing our hope, and filling us with the courage to face whatever lies ahead. As we lean into Your name, may our hearts be filled with peace, knowing that we are safe in Your care.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
