Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today with humble hearts, acknowledging Your sovereignty over our lives and the lives of those around us. In Your Word, Proverbs 19:4 reminds us that "Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour." In reflecting on this verse, we recognize the profound truth it holds, especially in a world that often places value on material possessions and outward appearances.

Lord, we ask for Your wisdom as we ponder the implications of wealth in our relationships. Help us to see clearly how material wealth can create an illusion of friendship – a false connection that might fade away when the riches dwindle. May we not fall into the trap of believing that our worth is determined by the abundance of our bank accounts or the affluence of our lifestyle. Instead, instill in us the understanding that true friendships are built on love, mutual respect, and common purpose rather than on the fleeting nature of wealth.

Father, we pray for those who do possess wealth. Grant them discernment to recognize who their true friends are and to cherish those relationships that are not dependent on financial gain. Allow them to use their resources to uplift and support others, forging genuine connections based on sincerity rather than transactions. May they be driven by a spirit of generosity that reflects Your heart, sharing their blessings and ensuring their wealth serves a greater good.

Conversely, we lift up those who find themselves struggling with poverty. Lord, we know how isolating it can be to lack the resources to connect with others or to feel the weight of judgment from society that often marginalizes the poor. We pray that they find true community and genuine companionship, not defined by their deficiency but embraced for their inherent worth as Your creation. Remind them, Lord, that their value is not tied to their financial status but to who they are in Your eyes—beloved children of the Most High.

As Your followers, help us to be agents of change in a world that sometimes values wealth over wisdom, possessions over presence, and status over sincerity. Let us extend our hands and hearts to those who may be struggling, ensuring that no one feels alone or abandoned due to their economic situation. Encourage us to love our neighbors unconditionally, regardless of their financial standing. Teach us to seek out those who may be downtrodden or overlooked, reminding us of the love You have for the least of these.

Father, grant us a spirit of empathy, enabling us to feel the struggles of others as if they were our own. Inspire us to befriend those who may seem different, whether due to their economic situation, background, or circumstances, seeing past the shallow divisions that society often constructs. Let our friendships be rich in kindness, compassion, and service, rather than transactions driven by gain.

As we seek to build a community that reflects Your love, may our connections be rooted in authenticity. Teach us to foster relationships that uplift each other in times of need, echoing the teachings of Your Son, who reached out to the marginalized and demonstrated compassion without reservation.

In everything we do, may we glorify You, O Lord, by understanding that true friendship is not measured by wealth but by the depth of love we share with one another.

We thank You for Your guidance and the lessons You impart through Your Word. As we navigate our relationships, help us to hold tightly to those truths and to seek first Your kingdom, knowing that all other things, including genuine friendship and love, will follow.
