A Prayer for Discernment and Guidance
"Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:" - Proverbs 2:15

Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a heart that seeks understanding, wisdom, and discernment in a world that often tempts us with paths that may appear enticing yet are filled with deception and moral ambiguity. Lord, as I meditate on Your Word, particularly Proverbs 2:15, which speaks of those whose ways are crooked and froward in their paths, I humbly ask for Your divine assistance in navigating these complexities.
Father, Your Word promises that if we seek wisdom as silver and search for her as for hidden treasures, we will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. I earnestly pursue this wisdom today, recognizing that the paths of our lives are fraught with choices that can lead us either closer to You or astray from Your truth.
There are so many voices in the world, Lord, and the temptations are relentless. Some may boast of success and happiness obtained through means that are not aligned with Your teachings. There are those whose ways are crooked, who take delight in misleading others, and who walk frowardly, filling their footsteps with deception. I pray, dear God, that You open my eyes to see through the facades of this world. Let me be aware of the distractions and misinformation that seek to lead me away from Your righteous path.
Lord, grant me the wisdom to discern the truth in every situation I face. Teach me to listen carefully to the advice and counsel of those I allow into my life, ensuring that they reflect Your love and Your teachings. May I not be swayed by the allure of worldly knowledge, but rather be anchored in the profound wisdom that comes from You. Help me to recognize the fruits of the Spirit in those around me, that I may choose my companions wisely and surround myself with voices that uplift and lead me to You.
Today, I ask for Your guidance against those who walk with crooked intentions. Let Your light shine upon my path, illuminating the choices that are aligned with Your will and illuminating the dark corners where deceit and wickedness dwell. Teach me to tread cautiously, Lord, on the journey of life, aware that my steps matter in the grand tapestry of Your purpose.
I humbly request strength and courage to resist the influence of those who embody the ways of the froward, who seek to manipulate, exploit, or lead others into darkness. Grant me the heart to extend grace to them but the wisdom to avoid being led astray. May I respond to each situation with love and wisdom, recognizing that each person is capable of change and that I may be called to be an instrument of Your peace and truth in their lives.
Help me, dear Lord, to walk in integrity and in a manner that reflects Your light. As I learn to navigate the paths of life, let me become a beacon of wisdom for others, guiding them away from crooked ways and towards the hope and salvation found in Jesus Christ.
I thank You, Lord, for Your ever-present guidance and love. I place my life entirely in Your hands, trusting that You will lead me away from the paths of the froward and into the glorious light of Your presence.
In Jesus' name, I pray,
Amen.
