"He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, [and] lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
That he may set [him] with princes, [even] with the princes of his people." - Psalms 113:7-8

Most High God, Lord of heaven and earth, I come before You with reverence and gratitude, worshiping You for Your holiness, Your mercy, and Your power to redeem. You are not distant from the broken places of human life; You are present, attentive, and mighty to save. Today I cling to Your living Word and I praise You for the promise You have spoken in the Scriptures: “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.”

Father, I acknowledge that without You, we are nothing. In our weakness, we are like dust that the wind can scatter; in our shame, we feel as though we are cast aside and forgotten. Yet You, O Lord, look upon the lowly with compassion and upon the oppressed with justice. When the world measures worth by strength, wealth, status, and applause, You measure with truth and with love. You see the heart. You see the tears that never fall in public. You see the burdens hidden behind polite smiles. You see the need that words cannot express. And You have declared that You are the One who “raiseth up the poor out of the dust,” and You are the One who “lifteth the needy out of the dunghill.”

Lord, I bring before You all who feel pressed down—those crushed by poverty, grief, rejection, sickness, unemployment, loneliness, discrimination, fear, and the consequences of sin. For those who feel stuck in the lowest place, where hope seems scarce and dignity feels stolen, stretch forth Your hand and lift them. For those who are weary of asking for help, weary of waiting, and weary of being misunderstood, remind them that You are not ashamed to draw near. Let them know, deep in their spirit, that You are the God who raises, the God who lifts, the God who restores.

Father, I confess that there are times when I have felt like dust—small, unseen, and fragile. There are moments when I have felt like the needy—overwhelmed by lack, humbled by my limitations, and troubled by the sense that I cannot fix what is broken. Yet Your Word says, “He raiseth up” and “lifteth.” You do not merely observe; You act. You do not merely sympathize; You transform. So I ask You now, with faith, to raise me where I have been bowed down, and to lift me where I have been brought low. Lift me from despair into hope. Lift me from confusion into clarity. Lift me from guilt into forgiveness. Lift me from fear into peace. Lift me from striving into trust.

But Lord, I also ask for a pure heart in the midst of Your blessing. If You lift me, keep me humble. If You raise me, keep me grateful. If You set me in a broader place, keep me grounded in prayer. Teach me not to forget what You have brought me from. Teach me not to look down on anyone still in the dust, or anyone still crying from the dunghill. Instead, make me a vessel of Your compassion—quick to listen, slow to judge, ready to serve.

Your Word declares Your purpose: “That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.” Lord, I ask that You would not only change circumstances but also restore honor, purpose, and identity. Set Your children where they can grow, where they can learn, where they can contribute, and where they can testify of Your goodness. Open doors that no man can shut. Provide opportunity with integrity. Grant favor that does not corrupt, influence that does not compromise, and increase that does not destroy. When You elevate, let it be for service and not for vanity; for righteousness and not for pride; for blessing others and not for self-exaltation.

God of uplift and restoration, teach Your people to reflect Your heart. Make us willing to see the poor, to defend the needy, and to honor those the world ignores. Give us courage to give, wisdom to steward, and compassion to act. Where there is injustice, let Your light expose it. Where there is exploitation, let Your hand stop it. Where there is hopelessness, let Your promises revive it.

I praise You, Lord, because You are faithful. You raise the poor. You lift the needy. You set the lowly among princes—not because of human merit, but because of Your covenant love and Your sovereign grace. Let this Word stand firm in my heart. Let it bear fruit in my life. Let it become testimony in my home, in my community, and in every place where Your name is called upon.

I rest in Your promise: “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.” Do it, Lord, for Your glory. Amen.
