A Prayer for Divine Guidance and Deliverance from Iniquity
"Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me." - Psalms 119:133

O Merciful and Gracious Father,
As I come before You in reverence and humility, I reflect on the profound wisdom of Psalm 119:133, where the psalmist earnestly implores, "Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me." My heart is full of longing for Your guidance and strength, for I recognize that the path I tread is often fraught with obstacles, temptations, and the ever-present shadow of iniquity. Oh Lord, how essential it is for me to surrender my will and desires unto You, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, who knows every hair on my head and every thought in my heart.
Heavenly Father, I ask You today to illuminate my path and open my eyes to the truth of Your Word. Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105); it is in Your scriptures that I find direction, clarity, and purpose. I desire for my steps to be aligned with Your divine wisdom, for the plans that You have for me are good, to give me hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). May Your Word be my compass and guide, steering me away from the snares of the enemy, and leading me towards righteousness and peace.
Lord, as I traverse the varied terrains of life, I am acutely aware of my weaknesses. The world around me thrives on iniquity, and the temptations of the flesh often threaten to derail my commitment to You. Help me, O God, to be vigilant and steadfast. In my moments of doubt and struggle, may I cling to Your promises and find strength in Your presence. Let the power of Your Holy Spirit fortify me against the allure of sin. I declare, as the psalmist has, that I do not want any iniquity to have dominion over me. I desire freedom in You, O Lord.
I confess my sins before You, acknowledging that I am not perfect and that I have erred in my ways. Forgive me, Lord, for allowing the cares of this world and my own desires to lead me into paths contrary to Your will. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness and guide me back to the narrow road that leads to life. Help me to renounce all iniquities that seek to enslave me—habits, thoughts, and actions that do not align with Your Word—and grant me the grace to overcome them.
Father, as I seek to walk in accordance with Your Word, I ask for discernment to recognize Your voice amid the noise of this world. Shield me from distractions that would seek to draw me away from Your truth. Let me meditate daily on Your laws and decrees, and help me to internalize them so that I may live them out. May my heart be a fertile ground for Your Word, producing fruits of righteousness in my life that others may see and glorify You.
O Lord, I also pray for my brethren who may struggle with the same issues of iniquity. May Your light shine brightly in their lives, and may Your Word guide them as You have promised. Let us walk together in unity and support, uplifting each other as we aspire to be more like Christ, who is our ultimate example of holiness.
In Your infinite wisdom, You hold the key to my steps and my journey, and I willingly place my trust in You. I know that if I align my steps with Your Word, I will find peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayer, and for the assurance that You are with me every step of the way.
In Jesus' mighty name, I pray,
Amen.
