A Heart of Humility and Gratitude
"O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;" - Psalms 16:2

Heavenly Father,
As I come before You today, I recall the profound words from Psalm 16:2, where the psalmist pours out a heart of honesty and reverence, proclaiming, "O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee." Oh, Lord, what a humbling reminder that You are the epitome of goodness, the source from which all grace flows. I stand in awe of who You are, recognizing that my own righteousness is like filthy rags before Your holiness.
Lord, I thank You for the beauty of Your creation, for the endless blessings showered upon my life, for in You I find my truest joy and fulfillment. You are my Lord, my sovereign ruler, and my loving Savior. It is in Your arms that I find comfort, peace, and strength to face each day. In calling You my Lord, I acknowledge that I am but a vessel, created for Your glory; I have no goodness of my own that I can boast about. My achievements, my accolades, and even my kindnesses are but reflections of Your grace operating within me.
Help me, O Sovereign King, to remember that my existence is not for the purpose of self-glory, but to serve and proclaim the goodness of Your name. Instill in me a deep understanding that every good gift comes from You, and that without Your mercy, I would be lost in the mire of this world. Teach me to say with sincerity, "my goodness extendeth not to thee," that I might live with a heart full of humility, never thinking too highly of myself or my accomplishments. Let me never forget that my life is meant to shine a light on Your unwavering goodness and love.
Lord, as I navigate the trials and triumphs of my life, remind me that it is Your goodness that sustains and guides me. In moments of despair, remind me that Your presence is my comfort and that Your peace surpasses all understanding. In times of celebration, may I sing praises to Your name and glorify You for the victories You have granted. Help me to be ever mindful that my time on this earth is fleeting, and I must utilize each moment to draw closer to You and reflect Your character to those around me.
Lead me to live a life of gratitude, acknowledging the many ways You’ve woven Your goodness into the fabric of my existence. Inspire me to show this goodness to others by serving, loving, and lifting those who are weary. May I embody the essence of Christ-like love, allowing Your Spirit to flow through me, impacting the world in ways that honor Your commandments.
As I bow before You now, I offer up my life as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto You, which is my reasonable service. Mold my soul, Lord, that I may be more like You – compassionate, forgiving, and generous. Strip away any pride or self-reliance that may cloud my view of You, for I desire to approach You with a spirit of humility, always seeking to give You the glory.
May the cries of my heart echo the words of the psalmist, understanding fully where my true strength lies – in You alone. I embrace the truth that You are my Lord, guiding me through the path of righteousness for Your name's sake. Fill me with Your Spirit, O Lord, so that I may bear fruit that reflects Your goodness in a world that desperately needs Your light.
Oh, Lord, You are my Lord, and I cherish every moment spent in Your presence. Thank You for being my goodness, my hope, and my salvation. Let everything I do be done for Your glory.
In Jesus' blessed name, I pray.
Amen.
