Father in Heaven, I come before Thee with reverence and with hope, seeking to order my heart, my thoughts, and my steps according to Thy holy word. Thou hast spoken by the Spirit in the Psalms, and today I lay hold of this truth with humility and faith: “I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Lord, write this scripture upon my inward parts, that it may not be merely words upon my lips, but a living anchor in my soul.

O LORD, I confess that my eyes are often drawn to many things—troubles that rise like waves, responsibilities that press upon me, and fears that whisper of what may be lost. Yet I choose, by Thy grace, to set Thee always before me. Teach me what it means to keep Thee before my face in the morning when I awaken, in the midday when decisions crowd my mind, and in the night when silence can magnify my worries. Let my first thought be of Thee, and let my last meditation be upon Thy faithfulness. Help me to remember that Thou art not distant, but near; not unaware, but attentive; not uncertain, but unchanging.

Lord, when the world seeks to shape my priorities, I ask that Thou wouldst sanctify my focus. Let me set Thee before me in the reading of Thy word, that I might see Thy wisdom. Let me set Thee before me in prayer, that I might be guided by Thy counsel. Let me set Thee before me in my speech, that my tongue might be kept from vanity and my words might be seasoned with grace. Let me set Thee before me in my work, that I may labor as unto Thee and not unto men. Let me set Thee before me in my relationships, that I may love with patience, forgive with sincerity, and walk in peace.

Thou hast declared, “because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.” Father, I thank Thee that Thy presence is not a fragile comfort, but a mighty assurance. When my strength is small, be Thou my strength. When my mind is restless, be Thou my peace. When my heart is heavy, be Thou my joy. When I face temptation, stand at my right hand to deliver me from evil and to keep my feet from falling. When accusations rise within my conscience or against my name, remind me that Thou art righteous, and that Thou art able to keep that which I commit unto Thee.

O LORD, make me steadfast. When circumstances shift, when plans collapse, when news brings uncertainty, let me not be moved from trusting Thee. When I am misunderstood, let me not be moved into bitterness. When I am praised, let me not be moved into pride. When I am corrected, let me not be moved into defensiveness. When I must wait, let me not be moved into impatience. Root me deep in the confidence that Thou art at my right hand—near enough to uphold me, strong enough to sustain me, faithful enough to finish what Thou hast begun.

Forgive me, Lord, for the times I have set other things before me—my own understanding, my own comfort, my own control. Cleanse me from every divided loyalty. Teach me to seek first Thy kingdom and Thy righteousness. Let my choices show that I truly believe Thy word. Let my reactions prove that I truly trust Thy nearness. Let my perseverance testify that I truly rest in Thy power.

Father, I pray for the days ahead. If they bring joy, keep me humble and grateful. If they bring sorrow, keep me tender and hopeful. If they bring conflict, keep me calm and wise. If they bring plenty, keep me generous and sober. If they bring need, keep me dependent and confident in Thy provision. In all things, let this be my confession and my practice: “I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”

Now establish me, O God, that I may walk uprightly before Thee. Let Thy presence steady me, let Thy truth guide me, and let Thy love hold me fast. I yield myself to Thee—my mind, my will, my emotions, my body, my time, and my future. Keep me close, keep me faithful, and keep me unmoved until the work Thou hast appointed for me is complete.
