A Prayer for Healing from Betrayal
"They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul." - Psalms 35:12

Heavenly Father,
In Your presence, I bow my head and humble my heart, acknowledging Your greatness and the profound depth of Your love. I come before You today, stirred by the words of Psalm 35:12 from the King James Version, which reminds me of the painful experiences of betrayal: “They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.” Lord, You know my heart and the burdens I carry, and I offer them to You during this time of reflection and supplication.
Gracious God, how often have I sought to do good, to extend kindness, compassion, and love to those around me, only to be met with hurt and betrayal in return? You hear my lamentations, Father. You understand the deep wounds these actions have inflicted upon my spirit. As I strive to walk in Your righteous path, I sometimes feel overwhelmed by the darkness of human deceit and ingratitude. I lay this burden at Your feet, trusting in Your healing power.
Lord, I ask for the grace to rise above the pain. Help me not to retaliate or harbor bitterness in my heart; instead, guide me to respond with love. In moments like these, I rely on Your Word for comfort. May Your promise that vengeance belongs to You bring me peace and remind me to seek justice through prayer, not through my own fleshly anger.
I pray for those who have caused me pain, for in their actions, they reflect a misunderstanding of Your ways. Open their eyes, Lord, to the error of their actions. Let them come to a place of repentance and understanding. Let them recognize the harm they have inflicted and, through Your mercy, lead them to seek reconciliation. May they find healing as I seek my own.
Jesus, You were also wronged. You showed us the ultimate example of forgiveness despite the great injustice you suffered. When others turned against You, mocking and spitting, You took their sins upon Yourself. As I think of how you handled betrayal, I earnestly ask You to mold my heart after Yours, to embody grace even when I feel like I have been treated unfairly.
Father, please surround me with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Fill the aching void in my soul with Your love and reassurance. Remind me that I am Your cherished child, deserving of compassion and mercy. When the noise of this world and the sting of betrayal weigh heavily upon me, draw me closer to the quiet safety of Your embrace. I seek solace in You, knowing that in expressing my pain to You, I am also opening my heart to receive Your healing touch.
Help me to learn the lessons You want me to learn through this experience. What deeper understanding do You wish to impart to me about love, forgiveness, and human frailty? As I navigate through these emotions, grant me wisdom to discern your will and to understand that every trial serves a purpose in drawing me closer to you.
And, Lord, as I move forward, give me strength to continue doing good and spreading Your love, even in a world where the good can be met with evil. Let my joys be not diminished by the actions of others, and may I remain a vessel of righteousness filled with Your Spirit.
Thank You for hearing my prayer, Lord. Thank You for the promise of restoration and the hope of renewed relationships. I place my trust in Your perfect timing to mend what has been broken. I surrender my heart, my hurt, and my hopes into Your capable hands, knowing that with You, all things are possible.
In Jesus' name, I pray,
Amen.
