A Prayer of Commitment and Trust in the Lord
"Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass." - Psalms 37:5

Heavenly Father,
I come before You with a heart full of gratitude, acknowledging Your greatness and Your sovereign plan for my life. I lift my eyes to You, the Creator of heaven and earth, the one who knows my every thought, my every struggle. As I bow my head in reverence, I recall the words of Psalm 37:5: "Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” These words resonate deep within my spirit, calling me to surrender my ways, my plans, and my desires to You, O Lord.
At times, I find myself overwhelmed with the circumstances of life—the burdens I carry, the decisions I must make, and the uncertainty of the future. Yet, I am reminded that I do not walk this journey alone. You, Lord, have promised to guide me, to lead me beside still waters and into paths of righteousness. Help me, I pray, to commit my way unto You.
Teach me the beauty of surrendering my ambitions and aspirations at Your feet. Let me not cling to my understanding or strive in my own strength, but instead, empower me to trust wholeheartedly in Your divine providence. Lord, I thank You for the assurance that when I commit my way to You, I am opening my heart to Your perfect will.
As I lay out my plans before You, I ask for Your discernment to see if they align with Your purpose for my life. May my ways reflect Your desires, and may I seek not my glory but Yours alone. When doubt and fear begin to encroach upon my thoughts, remind me of Your faithfulness. You, who have brought me through trials, who have held me in moments of despair, continue to be my anchor. Help me trust in Your promises, for they are true and everlasting.
Lord, I think of the times when life seems chaotic and my path uncertain. In those moments, grant me the patience to wait on You. Give me the strength to pause and listen for Your voice, for I know that You have my best interest at heart. When I feel like giving up, remind me of the times You have intervened and brought my worries to fruition in ways I could have never imagined.
In the journey of life, there will be hills and valleys, joy and sorrow, success and failure. But I stand firm on the promise that if I commit my way to You and trust in Your guidance, You will bring it to pass. You will fulfill Your purpose in me. I ask, Lord, that You open my eyes to see the opportunities around me, to embrace the lessons learned in the waiting and to savor each moment as I walk in faith.
As I move forward, dear Father, I seek to align my heart with Yours. Make my desires coincide with Your will, that I may glorify You in all I do. Remind me of the many promises found in Scripture—of Your goodness, Your mercy, and Your unfailing love. Help me to cultivate a spirit of trust, one that does not waver in the face of adversity but remains steadfast in hope.
I place my faith in You, Lord, for You are always good, and Your timing is perfect. Grant me the courage to step boldly into the future, knowing that no matter the obstacles, You are with me, and You are for me. Let me embody the assurance of this verse, committing my way to You, trusting that You will bring it to pass according to Your divine will and purpose.
In Jesus' name, I pray,
Amen.
