O Lord our God, we come before Thee with reverence and holy joy, lifting our hearts in worship and our voices in praise. We desire to obey Thy Word and to delight in it, for Thou hast invited us into gladness in Thy presence. As it is written in the King James Version: “Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.”

Father, teach us to sing unto God—not only with our lips, but with the whole offering of our lives. Put a new song within our spirit, a song that is not dependent upon circumstances, but anchored in the unchanging truth of who Thou art. When our days are bright, keep us from forgetting Thee; when our days are heavy, keep us from doubting Thee. Let praise be the steady language of our hearts, so that our worship will rise like incense before Thy throne.

We sing praises to Thy name, O Lord, because Thy name is holy, faithful, and worthy of honor. Thy name is a refuge in every storm and a foundation beneath every step. Help us to cherish Thy name above all names that men exalt. Cleanse our mouths from careless speech and our minds from vain thoughts, that our words may be seasoned with grace and our meditations be pleasing in Thy sight. Make our praise sincere, not routine; humble, not loud for display; steadfast, not easily silenced.

We extol Thee, O God, for Thou art the One “that rideth upon the heavens.” Thou art not limited by the weakness of man nor confined by the borders of earth. Thou reignest above all power, all noise, all fear, all opposition. When we look at what threatens us, remind us to look higher—to Thee, who art enthroned in majesty. When we feel small, remind us that we belong to the God who is great. When our plans fail and our strength fades, remind us that Thy purposes cannot be overturned, and Thy hand is not shortened that it cannot save.

We honor Thee by Thy name JAH. Let that sacred name awaken awe within us and stir our souls to worship. Let it silence pride and revive reverence. Teach us to live as people who carry Thy name with honor—walking in truth, loving mercy, and seeking peace. Where our hearts have grown cold, warm them again by the remembrance of Thy greatness. Where our faith has weakened, strengthen it by the vision of Thy glory. Where we have been distracted by lesser things, call us back to first love.

And, Lord, we ask for grace to “rejoice before him.” Not a shallow joy that denies pain, but a deep joy that trusts Thee through it. Give us rejoicing that springs from Thy presence—joy that can weep and still worship, joy that can wait and still hope, joy that can repent and still believe. Teach us to rejoice before Thee in private devotion, in the gathering of Thy people, and in the quiet moments when only Thou seest.

We pray for our homes: let them be places where praise is welcomed, where gratitude is spoken, and where Thy name is honored. We pray for Thy church: unite us in worship, purify us in spirit, and make our songs and our service pleasing unto Thee. We pray for those who are burdened: let them find strength in praising Thee; let them discover that rejoicing before Thee is a doorway into peace.

Lord, make our lives an anthem to Thy glory. Let our work be worship, our conversations be seasoned with praise, our decisions be guided by reverence, and our rest be filled with thanksgiving. Keep us mindful that Thou art near, that Thou art able, and that Thou art worthy.

So we come again to Thy Word, and we echo it with faith and love: “Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.” Receive our praise, O Lord, and draw us nearer to Thy heart.
