A Prayer for Strength and Wonder
"I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge." - Psalms 71:7

Dear Heavenly Father,
As I come before Your throne of grace today, I am reminded of the profound truth found in Psalm 71:7, where Your servant proclaims, "I am as a wonder unto many; but thou art my strong refuge." Lord, I seek to understand the significance of this verse in my life, for it holds both a declaration of faith and an acknowledgment of Your unfailing protection.
Father, I recognize that being a wonder unto many is not merely about outward appearances or earthly accolades. It speaks to the marvelous works You are performing in and through my life. You have crafted me uniquely, instilling within me gifts and talents that reflect Your glory. Help me to embrace this individuality as a testament to Your creativity and love. May I, in all that I do, shine as a beacon of hope and inspiration to those around me.
Lord, I pray that as individuals observe my life, they might be drawn not to my achievements but to the wonder of Your presence. Let them see the fruit of the Spirit evident in my actions — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. May they marvel at how I navigate hardships with grace, how I forgive freely, and how I serve diligently. Let my life be a reflection of Your character, pointing others to the source of my strength, which is found solely in You.
Yet, O God, I also acknowledge the weight of the burdens that can accompany being a wonder. Sometimes, the very gifts that make me unique may lead to scrutiny, misunderstanding, or even envy from those who do not grasp the magnitude of Your work. In those moments, I feel vulnerable and exposed. Therefore, I cling tightly to the second half of the verse: "but thou art my strong refuge."
Your Word assures me that in You, I have a stronghold, a fortress where I can find shelter from the storms of life. I thank You for being my refuge, where I can seek solace in times of distress and anxiety. When the world feels overwhelming, and I am confronted by doubts or fears, remind me to turn to You immediately. Guide me to bolster my spirit by immersing myself in prayer and Your Holy Scriptures, seeking not my own understanding but Your divine wisdom.
Father, in my weakness, let me find strength through my faith in You. Help me to trust in Your plan for my life, even when I cannot see the full picture. May I find comfort in knowing that You are an ever-present help in times of trouble. Despite the challenges I may face, I can take refuge in the knowledge that You are by my side, fortifying my spirit and guiding my path.
Lord, I ask that You strengthen my heart and resolve to be a wonder amongst those I encounter. Allow my journey to be a walking testimony of Your power and grace. When doubts arise, and others question my purpose or value, may I stand firm in the identity You have given me through Your love. Let every trial serve to refine me further, producing perseverance and hope that does not disappoint.
And as I continue to grow in faith and become a wonder to many, let me not overlook those who are still seeking refuge. May I extend the same grace and solace I find in You to others, pointing them toward the strong tower that You are. Help me be a vessel of Your love and peace in a world that desperately needs it.
In closing, I thank You, Lord, for being my mighty refuge, my safe place in a tumultuous world. I glorify Your name, recognizing that every wonder I exhibit is ultimately rooted in Your unwavering presence and strength. I surrender my life to You, trusting in Your guidance and care.
In Jesus' name, I pray,
Amen.
