A Prayer for Deliverance from Adversaries
"Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:" - Psalms 83:11

Heavenly Father,
As I come before You today, I am humbly reminded of the words from Psalm 83:11, which declare, "Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna." Lord, in reflecting on this passage, I am stirred with the urgency to pray against those who rise up against Your people.
Lord, I recognize that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, against authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). So today, I come before You in prayer, seeking Your divine intervention in the face of the adversaries that threaten the peace and security of Your chosen ones.
O Sovereign God, You are the ultimate authority, and Your word is powerful. You remind us that in the face of our enemies, we can place our trust in You. Just as You dealt with Oreb and Zeeb, Lord, I ask that You contend with those who plot against Your plans and against those who seek to harm Your people. Strike down their schemes, expose their darkness, and bring their plans to ruin, just as You did in times of old.
You know the names of our oppressors, those who set themselves up as rulers and nobles. They may boast of their power and influence, but we know that all power belongs to You. I beseech You, O Lord, to confound their wisdom, to bring them to naught. Just as You made the nobles of Midian like Oreb and Zeeb, let their strength be broken, and their ambition come to nothing. Let them be as dust before the wind, for You are our shield and defender.
Father, I plead for those in positions of power who misuse their authority, who oppress and deceive the innocent. Make their hearts like the hearts of Oreb and Zeeb—filled with fear and terror when they stand against the power of Your might. Turn their schemes back upon themselves, so that they become a warning to others who would dare to rise up against You and Your people.
In the mighty name of Jesus, I remind every ruler and authority that their days are numbered unless they repent and turn from their wickedness. As we read in the Scriptures, those who set themselves against the Lord will surely be brought low. I pray that You would spark a fear of God in the hearts of those who plot against Your chosen people, causing them to reconsider their actions before it is too late.
Lord, let all their princes be as Zebah and Zalmunna—defeated and brought to nothing before the might of Your eternal army. Raise up a standard against them, my God! Help Your people to see Your hand at work in our lives, reminding us of Your faithfulness in the past and Your promises for the future.
In our daily lives, we often encounter adversaries of different kinds, whether they come as bullies at school, unjust authorities at work, or even as societal pressures that seek to draw us away from You. I ask that You empower us to stand firm, to be unshakeable in our faith, and to trust in Your delivering hand.
Thank You, Lord, for being our defender and stronghold. Thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your readiness to act on behalf of those who trust in You. We stand united in faith, trusting that You are a god of justice, and You will make all things right in Your perfect time.
In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray, amen.
