A Prayer of Refuge and Trust in the Lord
"I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." - Psalms 91:2

Heavenly Father,
In the quietness of this moment, I come before You with an open heart, desiring to draw nearer to Your presence, the very essence of comfort and strength. As I reflect upon Your holy Word, I am reminded of the powerful promise found in Psalm 91:2, where it is written: "I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." Lord, in this time of prayer, I claim this promise and affirm my trust and reliance on You.
O Almighty God, there is no one like You. You are the Creator of heaven and earth, the One who holds the universe in Your hands. When the storms of life rage around me, I can find peace and safety in You—my refuge and fortress. Thank You for being my sanctuary, a place where I can retreat in times of trouble. I come before You now, reflecting on Your unwavering protection over my life.
Lord, I confess that there are moments when my faith wavers, times when I struggle to believe that You are indeed my refuge. I often look to my own understanding and the circumstances that surround me, allowing fear and anxiety to creep in. Forgive me, Father, for these doubts and provide me with the courage to declare boldly, "He is my God; in him will I trust." Help me to remember that Your promises are true and unshakeable, that You are always present and actively working for my good, even when the world around me seems chaotic.
As I acknowledge You as my fortress, I place all my burdens, fears, and worries at Your feet. I ask You, Lord, to cover me with Your wings, to envelop me in Your divine embrace. In times of despair, let me feel Your unwavering presence, instilling in me a deep sense of peace that surpasses all understanding. Guard my heart and mind from the anxieties that threaten to overcome me, and remind me that I do not walk this path alone.
With every uncertainty I face, I choose to declare that You are my stronghold, a mighty fortress that cannot be shaken. I find comfort in knowing that no weapon formed against me shall prosper, because You, O Lord, fight my battles. When I am weary and burdened, I reflect on Your call to come to You for rest. You alone provide the strength I need to continue moving forward.
I pray specifically for the areas in my life where I find myself feeling vulnerable and exposed. Whether it be with my health, relationships, career, or emotional well-being, I invite You into those spaces. In each of these, I seek Your wisdom and guidance. Teach me to trust fully in Your plans, which are always greater than my own understanding. Let my declarations be rooted in faith and the assurance that You are working in all things for my benefit.
In times of trial, I desire to be a testimony of Your goodness and faithfulness. Strengthen me, Lord, that I may not only seek refuge for myself, but also encourage others to find their sanctuary in You. Help me to declare boldly to those around me the truth of Your protective nature, that they too may turn to You.
As I approach each day, instill in me a spirit of hope and trust. I commit my life to You, my safety, my decisions, and my future. I cling to the promise of Psalm 91:2, recognizing that no matter the storms that may come, I will say with confidence, "The LORD is my refuge and my fortress; my God; in him will I trust."
In Jesus' precious name, I pray.
Amen.
