A Prayer for Divine Awakening and Justice

"Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it." - Psalms 94:7

"Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it." - Psalms 94:{verse.verse_number}

O Lord, Eternal God of Jacob,

We come before Your holy throne this day, with humbled hearts and reverent spirits. As we reflect upon the words of Psalm 94:7, we are reminded of the attitude of disbelief that permeates the hearts of many in our world. "Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it." Oh Heavenly Father, how often do we find ourselves surrounded by voices that question Your omnipresence and omniscience, voices that deny Your justice and Your holy watch over creation?

We acknowledge, Lord, the tendency of mankind to forget Your sovereignty. In our frail human nature, we may sometimes waver in our faith and succumb to the cynicism of our environment. When we see injustice thrive, when evil seems to flourish, and when righteousness appears to be silenced, we may also echo the words of the wicked, questioning if You, O God, truly see our struggles. Forgive us, Lord, for every moment we have doubted Your goodness and for every time we have allowed despair to cloud our vision of Your promises.

O Mighty God, we lift our voices to You in fervent prayer, asking for a deep awakening within our hearts and the hearts of those around us. May our eyes be opened to the truth of Your Word! Help us remember that You are the God who sees all, the God who regards every deed, every thought, and every word. We pray that the veil of disbelief may be removed, and that the blinders covering the eyes of those who refuse to acknowledge Your authority may be cast off.

Lord, we pray for those who mock Your presence, who believe they can act without consequence, and who live their lives as though You do not exist. Teach them, O Lord, that every action is seen by You, that every injustice is accounted for, and that You are a God of perfect justice and mercy. We beseech You, Father, to touch their hearts with Your love, to make them aware of their need for repentance, and to remind them that they are indeed seen by You.

In our world, we see a desperate need for justice and truth. We witness the oppression of the poor, the suffering of the righteous, and the elevation of the wicked. But, Lord, our hope is not lost. We echo the psalmist’s strong conviction that You are aware of every single injustice, every cry for help, and every act of faith. We hold onto the promise that You are actively involved in our lives and our situations! As the God of Jacob, You were faithful to Your people of old, delivering them from bondage and leading them into freedom. You have not changed; Your faithful love and righteousness endure forever!

Lord, as we encounter trials and tribulations, remind us to seek refuge in You. Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Strengthen our faith and enable us to be Your instruments of change in a world filled with doubt. Equip us to proclaim Your truth boldly amid disbelief, inviting those who say You do not see to behold Your mighty works.

Lastly, we ask for peace and courage for our hearts. In the face of a world that often disregards Your presence, help us to proclaim with confidence that you do indeed see and that You are our righteous judge. As we wait upon Your judgment, may we act with love, mercy, and a desire for reconciliation among peoples. We fervently pray that through our lives, others may come to know the truth of Your sight and Your regard.

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and King, we pray,

Amen.
