A Prayer for True Wealth and Spiritual Clarity
"Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see." - Revelation 3:17-18

O Lord God of Heaven and Earth,
I humbly come before You, my Creator, my Sustainer, and my Redeemer, with a heart yearning for Your guidance and wisdom. As I meditate on the words spoken in Revelation 3:17-18, I am reminded of our human tendency to place value on worldly riches and material possession, often neglecting the deep and abiding treasures that can only be found in You.
Lord, the verse proclaims, "Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked." Father, I confess that often I have boasted in my own sufficiency, misplaced trust in material wealth, and overlooked the spiritual emptiness that lies within when I am distant from You. Forgive me for the times I have equated my financial blessings with Your favor, forgetting that wealth does not equate to a prosperous soul. Help me to see, as You see, the true state of my heart and the depths of my need for Your grace and mercy.
In this moment of reflection, I earnestly seek Your counsel as advised in Your Word. You said, "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich." O Lord, refine my spirit in the fires of Your transformative love, that I may emerge pure and rich in faith. I desire the gold that is of great value in Your Kingdom; not the fleeting treasures that the world offers that can be destroyed and lost.
Teach me, O God, to invest in the eternal things, to labor for the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Help me exchange my pride for humility, my greed for generosity, and my apathy for compassion. May I seek true riches that are measured in the impacts I make for Your Kingdom, and in the lives I touch with Your love and grace.
Then You said, "and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear." My heart aches for the times I have worn the shame of sin, walking in disobedience and denying the righteousness that You have freely given to me through Christ Jesus.
Lord, envelop me in Your white raiment, the righteousness of Jesus that covers my nakedness and the shame of my past. Strip away the insecurities and the burdens of guilt I carry. Help me to remember that I am clothed in Christ, a new creation, and that my identity is fully secured in Your love and acceptance.
O God, bring healing to the places of shame and insecurity in my life. I pray for all those who feel unworthy and inadequate, that they may find comfort and strength in Your embrace. Let Your grace be sufficient for us, transforming our nakedness into majesty, and the ashes of our lives into beauty (Isaiah 61:3).
Lastly, You counsel us to "anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see." Open my eyes, Lord! Pour out Your eyesalve over my spiritual blindness. Illuminate the paths before me and help me discern the truth in a world filled with noise and distraction. Enable me to see the beauty of Your creation, the urgency of the time, and the mission of my life. Lord, let me pursue the things that truly matter, embracing a life of purpose anchored in You.
As I bring this prayer before You, I rest in the assurance that You hear me, and I trust that You will answer according to Your perfect will. I commit to seek after true wealth, divine clothing, and spiritual vision, with fervent hope and expectation. In the Name of Jesus, I pray,
Amen.
